Nausea and Headaches off and on in Child

For the past 3 weeks my 7 year old says she "feels sick" about once or twice a week. When I question her more she says that her head hurts around her forehead and she just feels sick. It seems to be at different times of the day, the first time it was in the morning, second it was in the afternoon at school and I got a call saying that she said she had a headache, felt sick and was shaking, third time was at night and she vomited. She will be running around with tons of energy one minute and the next she feels sick. She has had no fever.

She has also been going through a bad rash and irritation around her vagina for a few months, a urine culture came back positive for group b strep. Since then it has come back negative twice but she still has the irritation. I'm not sure if these are related or not.

Has anyone else's child experienced this type of nausea, headache, sick feeling off and on? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I'm not sure if they're related, either. Best to bring the headaches, which sound severe, and nausea to her doctor's attention and go from there, they could be from any number of things.

Has she hit her head or had any kind of accident? Some of those symptoms almost sound concussion-like. (I have a son with a concussion right now so I might be a little pre-occupied with that.) It also sounds potentially like migraines, which tend to run in families.

I have no idea if those symptoms are related to the group B strep, but it definitely sounds like she needs a follow-up visit to the doctor. Good luck.

record when she's having them , and take her to the Dr,
It may be blood sugar related or it might be just a migraine.

My daughter has had several migraines starting when she was about 7. She would get a headache, nausea, vomit, take a nap, then wake up feeling better. She now can feel them coming on and fend them off. We realized with her that they happened when she hadn't had enough sleep or eaten enough at breakfast or lunch. They all happened in the early afternoon.

I would check with your doctor, since there is a combination of things going on.

The head acks and nausia together sounds like migrains. My son started getting them a few times a year when he was 10. Does anyone in your family have migrains? A lot of times they are genetic. My mom has them of corse she's just been diagnosed with them. I have them and have for years. My brother had them as a child. If they keep up I would take her her dr adn see what they think.

Good luck and God Bless!

when i was a kid around 8 yrs old i became very allergic to foods. i would get rashes all over and sometimes my face would swell. although those arent her symptoms i did get headaches all the time and stomache aches.

still today when i eat too much flour, corn, sugar (those are the main haters) i get headaches. also diet drinks are a killer for me!!! i would take her and see if she has developed food allergies or is sensitive to certian foods.
