Hi L.,
I am an naturopath and acupuncturist, having graduated from The National College of Natural Medicine in Portland. It took me 6 years to get through school and that was after completing the pre-requisites to get in. My husband, who is also a naturopath (we met in school) and I own a wellness center in Portland. It is a rewarding profession that I love. I only work part-time currently as I care for my 2 year old and am expecting another in May, but before having children I had a thriving, busy practice. School is expensive and a long haul, but can be worth it if you are clear it is the right path.

Have you checked out Clayton College online? I am currently working on my masters degree in Holistic Nutrition through them. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like.

My husband is interested in the same thing he has been looking at a college online called Global College of natural medicine. I'ts an accredited school and tuition is like $184 a month. Oh and my husband also says theres like some kind of discount, and the schooling is supposed to last two years.

I have not heard of any naturopathic shools where I live, but I do know that seattle is great for that. I have looked at some, and I remember my best friend found a distance ed program that was an accredited university and offered bachelors, masters and phds.

it's a wonderful profession! I hope to be a midwife one day, and then add a naturopathic degree to it, but alas, that is still in the far future at the moment.

Good luck!

Bastyr University in Kirkland, WA leads the field in the US. Seattle is a great place to be for that type of thing.
