I have a 4 year old girl, she is in preschool 3 days a week and dance one day a week so she does get to socialize. When we are at home she does get bored and always asks why she doesnt have friends to play with at home. It breaks my heart !!! Then I have a 17 month old girl who only gets to socialize with her big sister. I use to have her in Gymboree but there schedules never worked with ours and they are way to expensive now. I feel so bad for her because she has no one to play with her own age :( Does anyone know of any play groups, or any place to take them to socialize that is not to expensive ? Thanks so much !
Thanks ladies, I will look into what I want to do. Probably wont do anything until the holidays .... right now its crazy and I can barely keep up with what I have to do ... lol !!!
Try joining MOMS (Moms Offering Moms Support). There are several chapters in the area and they do play groups for all ages at various times of day, special play groups for those under 2, Moms nights out, family outings, etc. The website is www.momsclub.org and they can get you the info on the one nearest you. did you wind up finding folks for a playgroup? i am in need of a playgroup, too, and have a 5 yo girl and 1yo boy.
How about asking one of her preschool peers over for a play data? We did them all the time when our kids were in preschool and it worked out great especially when that was another small child in the house. It gave the older one someone to play with and me time with the younger one and everyone was happy.

I belong to a playgroup called Kansas City Mommies (http://www.KansasCityMommies.com). We have a minimum of at least 2 playdates each month and we meet for a mom's dinner once a month too. It's free to join. Feel free to check us out, we'd love to have you!
If you don't want to do a playgroup, you should check out community centers for playgyms, or libraries for free story times. http://www.KCKidsFun.com has tons of great ideas to keep kids busy.
Try signing your oldest up for classes at the local recreation center. They are usually very reasonable. Also, several churches organize MOPS groups for people with little kiddos. Great way to get your little one together with others.
Hi Sommer I belong to a moms group called GEMS at Valley View United Methodist Church at 95th and Antioch. We get together 2 times a month usually the 1st and 3rd Tuesday mornings each month the kids get to come and play with the other kids while the moms get together and talk and do different activites. We also try and get together to go out to eat or a movie once a month. It is FREE as well and you make great friends. Let me know if you would like more info. good luck
Have you checked out meetup.com? I am a member of a playgroup called the Young and Fun SAHM group and I love it. There are a lot of other groups too, I am sure you could find one that suits you. Other than that, I know Shawnee and Lenexa Community Centers have very cheap open gyms. Check out their websites for times, I can't remember right now.
Hi Sommer- I'm a part of a playgroup through meetup.com that I LOVE! It's Johnson County SAHM and the dues are only $5/year. Many of the playgroups are in homes so they don't cost a thing to attend. There is a wide range of ages and activities so there is something for everyone. I hope you check it out!
I joined MOMS Club International to solve similar problems...as well as ME being bored and wanting friends! Dues are $20 a year, we meet as a chapter once a month, you can join a weekly playgroup with kids of similar age and there are at least 2 or 3 activities every week that are optional...sometimes more!
