My Kids Need a Hair Cut

Our favorite "Kids Kutz" in Hillside Village is closed. This makes the second time we've gone by to get hair cuts and they've been closed for business. I don't know if they'll re-open as the sign on the door indicates they are in a despute with the landlord.

I need a child-friendly place not too far from East Dallas or Lake Highlands. My 7 year old daughter has sensory integration dysfunction and has gotten used to watching a video while someone cuts her hair. I don't know of any other place that does this except at Stride Rite in Preston Center. Any other suggestions?

we take our kiddos to a place called "kool kuts for kids". i know it is a chain, so there should be one around you somewhere. they let kids choose from watching videos or playing video games. hope this helps.

Bummer to hear about the one at Hillside Village, we go there lots. There is a kid's haircutting place at Lover's right before the Tollway. It is on the South side of loves in a strip shopping center. Cool Cuts ###-###-#### 4425 Lovers Lane, UP 75225.

My son has Sensory Integration Disorder and we use to take him to cool cutz for kids because of that reason...Now he just goes to my individual Hair Dresser and she puts on a movie for him while she cuts his hair. So you may want to try that or see if you have a Cool-Cutz for Kids in your area.

Is the Kids Kutz you're referring to on Mockingbird? If not, then you might check into a kids' "salon" on Mockingbird (at Abrams, I think). I saw it on my way to work this morning, but I don't remember the name. In case that is the one that has closed, I also know of two others...one is "Snip It" on Hillcrest close to SMU (in the block before the light at Hillcrest and Danile, ###-###-####). I peeked in the window this morning before they opened, and it was SO cute inside! They had the normal TV's at every station and such, but it was much cuter than other kids' salons I've been to. I almost took my dtr there today, but they don't take appts...only walk-ins, which wasn't great for my schedule. So I went to "Cool Cuts for Kids" on Lovers Lane (between Preston Rd and the Tollway, ###-###-####) and had a good experience. My dtr (age 2) got to sit in a car, and she had a TV at her station to watch. They have tons of videos to choose from. They also have a play area for when kids are waiting. It was not quite as cute as Snip It, but I realized that my dtr didn't know the difference or care...as long as she had a video to watch, she was content. Hope that helps! ~S.
