Multivits for 2 Year Old

My 2 and a half year old does not eat very well. His ped has suggested we supplement with some vitamins. I am trying to find a natural supplement. I looked at JuicePlus and L'il Critters. I was wondering if anyone has tried these. JuicePlus claims that their products cut down the frequency of sickness tremendously. If that is so, it would be great because we hardly go a week before falling sick. The only issue with JuicePlus is that it is very expensive, but if I need to get I will manage. I would appreciate any insights, suggestions, experiences.

Everyone should know about the most complete liquid vitamin supplement on the market called Vemma. It is liquid, as opposed to pills, and it tastes great. Everyone in the whole family drinks it, so no more bottles for different ages. I can give testimonials from other moms whose children have benefitted from this product.

We use the Flintstones gummies and have had no problems. My son has great teeth, so no issues there and he hasn't been sick at all. He also eats lots of fruits and veggies, so I don't see paying a lot for a supplement.
The main thing I like about them is I'm not paying for some MLM to get them. I don't care what anyone else says, I know from personal experience that the MLM schemes don't work and only a few people make the big money, the rest are just paying for it. I prefer to buy at a retailer and cut my costs instead of joining something I'm only going to lose money in.

Hi A.,
Juice Plus is a great product! The company does not claim that it will decrease illness - but there is fabulous research showing increased antioxidant levels, as well as improved immune response. Juice Plus is not a multivitamin - it is whole food nutrition - 17 fruits, vegetables, and grains, so your body knows what to do with it! It's pretty amazing. You can look at the research at www.HamreHealth.com. My family has been taking it for almost 3 years now and we won't go a day without it! It's like our nutritional insurance! :) For a child serving, the cost is only about 75 cents per day - for 17 fruits&veggies! With the cost and quality of produce - it's quite a bargain! Please let me know if you have any questions. I'd be happy to send you some nutritional materials from pediatrician Dr. William Sears on why he recommends and takes Juice Plus himself.
Have a great day and good luck! (It's hard to be a mom and make all of these decisions!)

Hi A.,

I am an independent rep for Juice Plus+. I got into the business because when I found out I could feed my then 4-yr-old something that looked and tasted like candy but actually contains fruits and vegetables, it made sense to me immediately. I decided to market it so I could make it available to other moms like me.

I can tell you that it is worth every penny and for a child your age costs only $0.75 per day. I feel like it is well worth the peace of mind it gives me, not to mention the money saved on doctors and prescription drugs. It is the only supplement I know of that has third party, peer reviewed, published research. It is the most researched and best selling whole food product in the world.

If you email me with your address, I will send you a CD or DVD that explains more about it. Also, check out my coupon here on Mamasource.

God bless,

M.

I have been taking Juice Plus capsules for about 15 years. My children (now 13 & 10) have taken the gummies, chewables and now the capsules since they were old enough to chew. I think there are some kids/adults who are always going to be sick more often than others (and in general, toddlers seem to have a cough or cold pretty frequently, whether its from a cold or allergies). I couldn't say for sure that our family is healthier because we take Juice Plus, but we don't get sick much more than the occasional cold. You can become a distributor like I did and pay about $40/year to get the wholesale discount on Juice Plus.

I have not tried the Arbonne supplements, but love their skin care products, so that might be a good option, too. Good luck!

Hi! I am an Independent Consultant with Arbonne International. It is all natural. We are known for our Anti-Aging skin care, but we have wonderful kid's vitamins. It is in powder form and it is fruit punch flavored. You put it in 6 ounces of water and they think it is juice. My kids love it. They are $22 for a month's supply, but you can get a 35% discount and get them for $14.30. Let me know if you need more information on these.

Take care-

We began using the Juice Plus gummies about 6 weeks ago for my three children (6, 8, & 10). They love the taste of them and looking back, I wlll say they've not been sick. We made a dramatic change in our eating habits at the same time, cutting out fast food, make organic choices in meat, milk and most produce. Over that time, my children have not been sick other than allergies. My husband, who was sceptical at first, has noticed the difference in the kids' demeanor too. I can't isolate it to the juice plus, but I think we're going to keep using it. You are right, the price is very high and is defninitely a consideration. Good luck with whatever you decide.

You have to purchase them through a distributor...if you know anyone in Quixtar they can get them for you. Or send me a message and I can direct you to my Mom - I get them from her.

My name is K. Roberts and I have had my son on Juice Plus for about 3 years. He was a very sick kid before we started JP. He does not eat fruits or veggies hardly at all, so I justify the cost simply because JP takes the place of the real thing in his diet. He is now in Kindergarden and has only missed 1 day of school this year due to being sick. He is a very healthy kid and I do not think he would be if it weren't for JP. FYI, when your son turns 6 he can get on a program where if you are buying JP for yourself he can get it for free! That has helped me with the cost this year. One of my friends just became a JP Rep, so if you need to find someone to order from Kathryn Buntyn would love to have your business! She is a wonderful Christian woman who I know from MOPS (Mothers Of PreSchoolers) at our church. Her number is ____@____.com

Good luck!

I use Juice Plus for my boys and like them. I feel a little better on those days when their diet is less than ideal. I also use a multi vitamin. I wanted to find one that did not have any artificial colors, etc. Also, many mass produced brands (flinstone, etc.) create a tablet for a 4 year old and under four has to use half. Half of Fred Flinstone is not really that even and a little bit of a pain. It's just something to think about when you look at the ingredients and serving size.

Hi, A.!
I agree with the person that recommended the Shaklee Vitamins. My kids take the Shaklee kids multivitamin and I love that it is not a gummy. Most dentists do not recommend any gummies (even vitamins). Shaklee suppliments are also "beyond organic" and are all natural. I have a 3 & 5 year old that love them. I started giving them the chewable multivitamin when they were 2, but they also have a mix for babies/toddlers. We also can see major health benefits from these & rarely go to the doctor (only for checkups :)) I wouldn't trust anything else for my kids because Shaklee has the clinical studies that back up what they say. we got the regular flintstone vitamins for 2 to 3 year olds. It worked great with my daughter. Also drinking orange juice fortified with vitamin C and D will also boost the immune system. There are also packages of powder you can buy, I am not sure where, that you can put in a kid's drink that boost the immune system. Make sure he gets plenty of sleep as well as disinfect a lot. However, getting ill now will strengthen his immune system & cut down on absences when he goes to grade school.

I highly recommend Juice Plus because it is a whole food supplement rather than a vitamin. The food is 100 percent absorbed into the body. I think you will feel really good when you read up on what you are giving him and find it well worth your money knowing that he is getting what he needs. You may be able to stretch your dollar as a 2 year old does not need 3 of each color/day (red and green). Two of each is plenty! K.

Definitely recommend Juice Plus. I've taken it for 10 years and haven't been sick since. My husband use to get sick a lot and it has kept him well. To get 17 raw fruits and vegetables in your body every day for only $1.40/day, that's a great deal. Juice Plus is the best on the market - check out all the 3rd party, peer-reviewed research on it. It's the most researched nutritional product on the market. Good luck!

Arbonne has natural vitamins for children that include a superprofood blend of antioxidents. The come in packets like Crystal Light to Go. You can mix it with water to make berry-flavored water, but my kids enjoy it in a blender with a banana, some ice, and some milk to make a banana berry smoothie. For a 2 1/2 year old, you could probably get away with half a packet (my two kids share a packet) so one box would last 2 months. Our whole family takes them and my kids never get sick. I always give my discount, so a box for 1-2 months (depending on your choice to use a whole or half packet)would cost around $15.

Unless they have come out with a new product, Juice Plus is a nutrient supplemnent as opposed to a multivitamin. However, my girlfriend used JuicePlus and really liked them. I found similar products (regarding fruits and vegetables as opposed to multi-vitamins)for better prices. I think L'il Critters makes them now.

Hey A.,

I would recommend the MELALEUCA VITA-BEARS multivitamin...the vitamins are patented (due to the delivery system at the cellular level called Frutose Compounding), they are not flavored with refined sugars - they are flavored with real cherry juice. They are sugar free and have no artificial colors, sweeteners or preservatives. They also have a kosher version if that's what you are looking for. hi A. - i buy all my families vitamins (and skin care, hair care, etc) from an all natural company called "arbonne" - last year they came out with a hybrid vitamin for toddlers called power punch - it is a little package of powder that you can add to their juice - my 3 year old son likes it - it is not real expensive - i think around $15 to $20 for a box - you do have to either become a consultant ($29 for a year) or order through a consultant to get it at a 35% discount - i am a consultant and would be happy to order it for you with my discount - it is shipped directly to you - i could also mail you a few packets to try it before you bought a whole box of it if you want to send me your address - you can go to their website (www.arbonne.com) and read about their products - they are all natural, organic, kosher, vegan, etc. products - i have also noticed that no one in my family hardly ever gets sick anymore - i think it is a combination of the vitamins and their other products - we have been using only arbonne products in our home for almost two years now and we all feel a difference in our health, skin, hair, etc. - my e-mail is ____@____.com if you want a sample

Yes, I totally recommend Juice Plus Gummies! My two boys have been taking them for the last 3 years. My oldest used to get sick every other week, always had strep and was constantly missing school. Since starting on the gummies, he has not had a sick day in 3 years!!!! My boys love the taste of them too. I highly recommend them. They are worth the money but you have to be consistent in giving them the right amount each day and do so for a long time. Just a few months won't work but overtime you will be amazed how healthy they get. If you want more information, I'm happy to talk to you about it. I liked the Juice Plus Gummies so much that I decided to sell them too so let me know if I can order some for you. Thanks, MP

Juice Plus+ is whole food that has been juiced and dried. They are labeled with a food label because of that. They do not contain megadoses of isolated vitamins. For $22.50 a month, that's about equivalent to the co-pay for one doctor's visit, not to mention any meds that are prescribed...isn't it worth it? I can send you some samples to see if your child would even like the gummies, so you can find out before you sign up.

I gave my 2 yr old daughter the JuicePlus gummies for over 6 months. I even became a distributer so I come get them wholesale. My husband and I saw no difference in her. She was still getting sick like every other child. I recommend that you don't waste your money. We now give her the Flintstone for 2 to 3 yr olds. I have even read reports that it is impossible to fit that many fruits and vegetables into a pill/gummie like Juiceplus claims. Hope this helps.

Hi A.,

We started Juice Plus with our kids about 1 year and half ago. We chose them because our oldest was having trouble with her stool. (We tried many of the brands in the store) As soon as two days after she started taking them (I recommend the gummies) we saw a vast improvement. She's a very picky eater and gets little nutrition elsewhere (although she's getting better). The oldest is almost 4 and goes to preschool. We do still get sick. I don't know of any vitamin that's a miracle cure for sickness...and it's been a really tough year (even the CDC has admitted that one). But all in all I think Juice Plus is great. I believe you can order vitamins for yourself and they'll give you the kids ones for free! Worth looking into!

My daughters are on Juice Plus gummies, and we do like them. My neighbor's daughter is on the Juice Plus tablets and likes them, too. My girls do get sick occasionally, but I would say less frequently than before JP (like another respondent, I also began focusing on a better diet with no fast foods, more organic foods, etc), and definitely less severely sick (my younger daughter has asthma, and had been to the ER a couple of times...scary!).

I believe that L'il Critters makes the Gummi Bears that were found to be contaminated with Mercury (a few years ago...I want to say it was Consumer Reports that tested lots of vitamins from different manufacturers to see how closely the label matched what was really in the vitamins, since they aren't regulated by the FDA...). I had given their gummies to my girls up to that point, and decided to switch!

I do like and recommend Hero Nutritionals Yummi Bears They have a Multi-Vitamin & Mineral, and a Whole Food Fruits & Vegetables Plus Antioxidants Supplement (made with Certified Organic Concentrates)...that I have used in place of the JP. They also make serveral other products, one of which we really like: Yummi Bears Fiber (the fiber is from chickory root, so it is very gentle, but effective!).

One last supplement I highly recommend: Nordic Naturals Omega 3's for children. (My girls are 5 & 8 now, so we've just "graduated" to the Junior version with a Lemon flavor) The children's version is strawberry flavored (natural flavorings) and comes in tiny little gelatin balls that they just chew. Omega 3's are great brain food and also wonderful for asthma and allergies. I think I remember reading that they can also be great for ADHD and similar symptoms.

All the best to you, A., as you make your decisions. The Juice Plus gummies ARE expensive, but they are also convenient (with auto-shipping, you never have to remember to buy more before you run out). There are some other quality supplements on the market as well, and I'm sure you'll find a great fit for your daughter!

Feel free to email me if you have any additional questions I can answer!
