Multivits for 2 Year Old
My 2 and a half year old does not eat very well. His ped has suggested we supplement with some vitamins. I am trying to find a natural supplement. I looked at JuicePlus and L'il Critters. I was wondering if anyone has tried these. JuicePlus claims that their products cut down the frequency of sickness tremendously. If that is so, it would be great because we hardly go a week before falling sick. The only issue with JuicePlus is that it is very expensive, but if I need to get I will manage. I would appreciate any insights, suggestions, experiences.

I have an informational CD about children's health if you are interested in listening to it. It discusses what nutrients children need and also specific product recommendations. There is an eductaional section and testimonials.

Everyone should know about the most complete liquid vitamin supplement on the market called Vemma. It is liquid, as opposed to pills, and it tastes great. Everyone in the whole family drinks it, so no more bottles for different ages. I can give testimonials from other moms whose children have benefitted from this product.

We use the Flintstones gummies and have had no problems. My son has great teeth, so no issues there and he hasn't been sick at all. He also eats lots of fruits and veggies, so I don't see paying a lot for a supplement.
The main thing I like about them is I'm not paying for some MLM to get them. I don't care what anyone else says, I know from personal experience that the MLM schemes don't work and only a few people make the big money, the rest are just paying for it. I prefer to buy at a retailer and cut my costs instead of joining something I'm only going to lose money in.

Arbonne has natural vitamins for children that include a superprofood blend of antioxidents. The come in packets like Crystal Light to Go. You can mix it with water to make berry-flavored water, but my kids enjoy it in a blender with a banana, some ice, and some milk to make a banana berry smoothie. For a 2 1/2 year old, you could probably get away with half a packet (my two kids share a packet) so one box would last 2 months. Our whole family takes them and my kids never get sick. I always give my discount, so a box for 1-2 months (depending on your choice to use a whole or half packet)would cost around $15.

My daughters are on Juice Plus gummies, and we do like them. My neighbor's daughter is on the Juice Plus tablets and likes them, too. My girls do get sick occasionally, but I would say less frequently than before JP (like another respondent, I also began focusing on a better diet with no fast foods, more organic foods, etc), and definitely less severely sick (my younger daughter has asthma, and had been to the ER a couple of times...scary!).
I believe that L'il Critters makes the Gummi Bears that were found to be contaminated with Mercury (a few years ago...I want to say it was Consumer Reports that tested lots of vitamins from different manufacturers to see how closely the label matched what was really in the vitamins, since they aren't regulated by the FDA...). I had given their gummies to my girls up to that point, and decided to switch!
I do like and recommend Hero Nutritionals Yummi Bears They have a Multi-Vitamin & Mineral, and a Whole Food Fruits & Vegetables Plus Antioxidants Supplement (made with Certified Organic Concentrates)...that I have used in place of the JP. They also make serveral other products, one of which we really like: Yummi Bears Fiber (the fiber is from chickory root, so it is very gentle, but effective!).
One last supplement I highly recommend: Nordic Naturals Omega 3's for children. (My girls are 5 & 8 now, so we've just "graduated" to the Junior version with a Lemon flavor) The children's version is strawberry flavored (natural flavorings) and comes in tiny little gelatin balls that they just chew. Omega 3's are great brain food and also wonderful for asthma and allergies. I think I remember reading that they can also be great for ADHD and similar symptoms.
All the best to you, A., as you make your decisions. The Juice Plus gummies ARE expensive, but they are also convenient (with auto-shipping, you never have to remember to buy more before you run out). There are some other quality supplements on the market as well, and I'm sure you'll find a great fit for your daughter!
Feel free to email me if you have any additional questions I can answer!

We love our Juice Plus and it only costs .75 cents a day for a two year old. Just a fraction of the cost of buying all that produce. And you are right, if it keeps them well, it is well worth it. ____@____.com

I get my girls the Flintstone one. I like that it is not a gummy type of thing. It is also listed as a 'first' vitamin and is meant for kids 2/3.
I've wondered about the JuicePlus but not sure about such a price.
Good question.

Hi A.,
We started Juice Plus with our kids about 1 year and half ago. We chose them because our oldest was having trouble with her stool. (We tried many of the brands in the store) As soon as two days after she started taking them (I recommend the gummies) we saw a vast improvement. She's a very picky eater and gets little nutrition elsewhere (although she's getting better). The oldest is almost 4 and goes to preschool. We do still get sick. I don't know of any vitamin that's a miracle cure for sickness...and it's been a really tough year (even the CDC has admitted that one). But all in all I think Juice Plus is great. I believe you can order vitamins for yourself and they'll give you the kids ones for free! Worth looking into!
