Hi Ladies,

My daughter and I are moving to Virginia in October. My husband has been there since February for his job, but we stayed in Michigan to try to sell our house. I work part-time here, but have not yet found a job in Virginia. We will probably spend a few months living with a family friend with whom my husband has been staying. She is currently unemployed and could use help with her rent, and we could use a few months to recover from the loss we will take on our house. But I don't want to be stuck in the house with her all day. She is a nice woman, but moody, and even if she weren't, I think it would be uncomfortable. Plus, the house and yard are not toddler friendly!
I am looking for activites, classes, playgrounds, and playgroups for us! I would also love to meet some other moms, as I know 3 people in the area, 2 of whom are single male friends from high school and college.
Thank you in advance!

Holistic Moms of Northern Virginia has a chapter in Alexandria. If you consider yourself an enterprising mom, the Enterprising Moms group is also a great way to network for all issues having to do with children and work.

Hi

Am I right in thinking that Mt Vernon is close to Alexandria? You could log onto bigtent.com and join a mom's group that way for the area that you will be in , in that area it probably is alexandria mom's , I suppose if you try a google search on alexandria mom's it will bring something up. Sorry not sure what else is in that area as I don't go , just going to local playgrounds and talking to other mom's will help you find out about different groups.

Good luck

K.
