Movie Theatre Popcorn at Home
I NEVER get to go to the movies (kids:) but I love Movie Theatre popcorn. I've tried lots of different microwave versions but none of them measure up. Anyone know how to make popcorn taste like it came from the theatre--the completely unhealthy kind with lots and lots of butter:)? Thanks, A.

I've been wanting to get a theater popcorn machine.....some day! Here is a link to an ebay item for a popcorn kit: http://cgi.ebay.com/MOVIE-THEATER-SECRET-Gourmet-Popcorn-...
I think it's in the oil they use. HTH~

I'm in the same boat (never go to the movies, kids, no babysitter, etc) anyway, I go to the theater and buy it and bring it home. Yummy treat!

The closest I have found is made by Whirly Pop. You can get their special stove-top popper, but you can also just use their popcorn kits in a regular pot on the stove.
The other thing you can do it just go to the theater and buy pop corn. Most will let you do it without buying a ticket.

Orville Redenbacher Pour over is delicious, comes in two flavors. I love the cheddar! It comes with a packet of butter or cheddar butter to pour over the popcorn once it's popped.
It's sinfully delicious :)

If you can find an old-fashioned hot air popper, just pop about 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels. Then use the butter-flavored Pam spray (we also love the store brands) and spray it on the popped corn. Then sprinkle on as much salt as you like. The butter spray helps the salt stick and it's fat-free. Enjoy!
Here's the popper that we have: http://store.cookingandcanning.net/prpohotairpo.html

We've got a Whirly Pop stove top popper and it's delicious! We did get the packages of popcorn, oil and salt and I think that's what really makes the difference. I know you can get them at Bed Bath and Beyond, and I think Target. Good luck.
