Wanted to hear about awesome mom moments.
Mine today: My four year old fell off her bicycle four blocks from our house on a busy street. Her lip was bleeding everywhere, all over her clothes, mine. She is wailing and my daughter is not into theatrics. She was in pain. I threw her on my back, wrapped my backpack around my bicycle, carried dinner and two bikes up hill for four blocks. When we got home, left bikes in driveway, carried her up our walk, cleaned her up and called the MD. After we returned from the MD, the adrenalin crash came and I kinda realized what I did. Mama roared today: )

Wow! Sounds like you had a definite SuperMom day! I don't have any exciting stories like those, but as a single mom, I like to think that I am a SuperMom everyday.... Just balancing all that needs to be done! I look forward to reading other posts on this thread! Fun!
My Superhero moment was more mindset. Last summer my kids were outside playing on tree stumps that my husband was cutting up for firewood. They were playing 'island' and hopping from one stump to the other. Who's idea was this game? Why, Daddy's of course! And that's another story alltogether! Anyway, my son, 3 at the time, missed his 'island' and hit his head on a sharp corner of one of the stumps. My daughter ran into the house and cried, "Sam's bleeding!"
I instantly shifted into this superhero mommy mode. Mommy commando. I wish I could explain this mindset more accurately. I was cool and calm and focused. I rushed out, grabbed my son, brought him inside and grabbed a clean dish towel. I inspected the cut, yup, stitches were needed. Sam was bleeding everywhere, all over both of us. I calmly instructed my husband to grab my purse (Sam's insurance card was in there) and get to the car, we're going to the hospital. My husband was borderline hysterical - we hit just about every light on that 5 minute trip there. But I was in control of my wits. I held Sam like I was a no-nonsense triage nurse in the middle of a raging war.
Of course, after we sat in the waiting area for 20 minutes, that cool calm superhero mom slowly turned into jello legs. But I recognize it HAD been there. I've got it in me when I need it. Sam walked away fine with only 3 stitches and a very humbled apology from his Daddy.
I'm not looking forward to the next time I need it, but it's nice to know It's lurking there somewhere.
well there was this one morning that I got up, worked out, took a shower blow dried my hair, got the kids up showered and fed, and got my daughter to preschool on time at 9am. After that I went grocery shopping came home and put it all away. had some time to tidy up the house before I picked her up. I was pretty amazed and impressed with myself. Tough pace to keep EVERYDAY. I felt super human. Then I took a nap.
That's a pretty impressive story, but... did you get the blood stains out of the clothes? If so, you are truly Supermom! :]
Wish I had you for a mom growing up. I know how you feel I treasure the moments I can make my daughter's frown turn into a smile and I feel like a awesome mom for saving the day. My daughter busted her top lip and it bleed on her pjs and it felt so good to calm her down and clean her up. She got a big ice cream treat afterwards which helped with the swelling. I hope they remeber these times and how much we love them. I love it too.
