My (huge-6) family no longer fits in our 5 seater car! (Shocking, I know...) anywho... we are in DESPERATE need of a minivan- with horrible credit due to wonderful previous divorces for each of us :) - we have just enough cash coming in from our tax return to pay for (a cheap...dirt cheap) one...
Are there any of you wonderful mommies out there with perhaps one for sale? for fairly cheap? -just thought I'd throw that in there ;) I've looked on craigslist and I'm really just so skeptical of all of that. Last time I tried to buy off there some creep kept calling me for weeks afterward... prefer not to go that route again.

Help, please, anyone?

What can I do next?

What do you mean by cheap? I have a 2002 Honda Odyssey with 95,000 miles that we are trying to get $6,500 for. Of course, we are in TN. Sort of a drive for you :)

Check www.carmax.com. They have reasonably priced used vehicles and they check them all out before selling and even have a return policy if you get it home and change your mind. you can search by price range and even get one shipped from another location. We got a minivan from them last fall and they shipped it from the San Antonio location to Plano for free.

Go to the website Carguyshow.com. Jerry Reynolds has a radio show on WBAP and he does this sort of thing. Let him know what you need and how much you can spend and he will help you get there.

We have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Van - not a minivan, BUT it's a GREAT van! It has a Regency conversion (you can look it up on the internet) - basically, it has a 13" TV, VCR, am/fm cassette player, CD player, dual heat/air. It also has CD player/am/fm with earphones in middle & back seats (individual ones), privacy shades. All seats are removable. It has captain's chairs in the middle and a huge bench seat in the back.

It gets about 18-to-20 mpg in town and more on freeway. It has ~69,000 original miles. We just put new tires on it, had a tune-up, oil change, inspection, etc. You're good to go for a year. Clear title.

We're asking $5,500 for it.

HI, my husband and I were in the same boat last summer. Our Taurus got stolen in June, and with our 4 kids, we were desperate for a new car by the time school started in August. (We have friends and neighbors that were generous with their time and car to give us rides to where we needed to go during the summer. God bless our friends!) The days were going by rapidly, and we had little to no money for a down payment, bad credit, and I was worried we'd get stuck with a clunker, if anything at all. We stumbled upon Mr. Bill's Motor Co. http://www.mrbillmotorco.com/ and they worked with us with the little money we had for a down payment and our credit. Do you have an automobile repossessions on your credit? That's about the only thing that would disqualify you there. We ended up getting a 2005 Chevy Venture. Seats 7, and the back two rows of seats are removable for we need to move large items or something like that. It's a great minivan, drives like a dream!

Give them a shot, and if you do, tell them T. S. sent you! Please :) you can apply online, and they are located on Pioneer Prkwy a little down past Bowen in Arlington, TX.

Good Luck!
