Maternity Clothes Consignment Stores

I am looking for the name and location of a consignment Maternity shop. It used to be on Route 9 close to Newton. I haven't been there in years and wonder if it is still there. Anyone know? I live in West Roxbury and am looking for professional Maternity clothing at a reasonable price. Any other ideas?

Hi K.,
I hope I am not out of line in suggesting this, but I have a BUNCH of maternity clothes (baby #2 is 14 weeks old today, and we are DONE!). Let me know if you are interested in seeing any of my stuff (and let me know what size you are - I have lots of fall stuff, winter stuff).

Hello K.!

First, congratulations on #2! Second, I, unfortunately, don't know of any consignment shops in the area that sell maternity. However, I too am a full-time working mom (lawyer) of a 21 month yr old girl. I had a very difficult time finding nice, professional clothing even at full price. In any event, if you are interested I still have all my maternity clothing and would be willing to sell some of it. They are all basically size 6 or medium. I did purchase a really suit from Mimi Maternity. Contact me if you are interested. ____@____.com

Why don't you try craigslist? I just sold my whole maternity wardrobe on craigslist for $100! The woman who bought them was thrilled!!

On route 9 heading east in Natick, right by the Wellesley line is a consignment shop with a maternity section (but lots of childrens clothing, etc.) called Kid to Kid. http://natick.kidtokid.com/ When you are heading east, it is a couple driveways after Destination Maternity (I thought it was the same thing the first time I was going to Kid to Kid).

I could be wrong but thought there was one on Route 9W in Framingham. Like I said it might just be a regular consignment but maybe has materinity section.

Another option for you is the ParentTalk Used Clothing, Toy & Equipment Sale on October 24th in Needham (http://www.parenttalk.info/newsite/index.php?module=pagem.... The sale committee has decided to include maternity clothes in this sale and you could probably get some really good deals.

I got a lot of my clothes on Ebay. The only issue is you have to have some idea what you like, how it fits etc. What I did was find brands of stuff I likes and then bought more pieces on Ebay. I had a hard time find work clothes in any store that were reasonably priced. Target has some (some targets have more than others). I got a lot of good GAP stuff but all on Ebay as no store near me had a maternity section. I had a few essential pieces to mix & match for work :

Black gap skirt
three pair pants (on gap, one liz lange for target and one motherhood maternity)
black blazer that matched all three

and a couple of more casual things for days I didn't have to be as dressy - stretch pants and tunics, stretchy skirts. That matte jersey material is perfect for the expanding belly. I bought a couple of items that were regular sized, just XL, if they had that baby doll cut compatible with a belly and pinned them under my arms, letting them out as needed.

Good luck and congrats!
