Looking for Sites on Fetal Development of Twins.
Hi, I have a 16 mos. old daughter and we just found out yesterday that we are actually pregnant with twins!!! They don't run in either of our families so we were shocked. I would like to learn more about the development and how it occurs throughout the pregnancy (both the fetal development and my body). Does any one know of any sites I can look at? Plus I'll take any advice... I'm so happy but nervous too. Thanks.

So What Happened?™
I just wanted to thank everyone for their advice and comments! We just went to the perinatologist and the babies look good so far. It looks like we are having 1 boy and 1 girl. I'm still aww stricken by it all. Once again... thank you.

Congratulations C.! I have 10 month old twin boys! They are the light of my life. It is great watching how differently they both are developing. (They are Fraternal) I read a great book when I was pregnant TWINS! Pregnancy, Birth and The First Year of Life. co arthored by Connie Agnew, M.D., Alan Klein, M.D., and Jill Ganon. I bought it at a Barnes and Noble shortly after I found out. It is a great book. Even though we had regular ultrasound and doctor visits I found it comforting to also read what was going on and how they and I eere changing. I also have a 6 yr old son. We had to make lots of adjustments! I cannot imagine having just one baby any more. I wish you all the luck in the world. you can e-mail me personally if you would like. ____@____.com

Congrats on your news! You are just the opposite of me. I had twins and then found out I was pregnant again when they were only 7 mo old. My first pregnancy we found out that we were having twins and it didn't run in either of our families. I didn't do any research on it. When I had questions I would ask my doctor or nurses. Just take care of yourself and eat healthy. I had my babies two weeks early by choice. Myself as well as my twins did great throughout the pregnancy. We did an ultrasound every month to check on growth so I think that helped with any worries that I had. If you ever have any questions please feel free to email ____@____.com Luck and enjoy yourself.

I just wanted to say congrats. I am a mother of twin 13 month old girls. They are truly a gift from god. I reccommend joining the mother of twins club. I am currently a member and it is great. I do not attend meetings...you don't have to but can...and love the message board they have. If I ask a question or have a concern I post it and usually get a response within a few hours. As for websites, I found the websites to be indecisive and had better luck asking mothers of twins.
CONGRATS!!!!

Please take this advice, and DO NOT do too much research on this...and just go with your doc on this one. Fontanels come in all sizes, if you are concerned, they will check, but almost all babies that would be considered to have problems associated with this have problems that would have been detected at birth. Like anything else medical on the internet, they give you worst case scenario, and that is not what you need to read when the case is most likely just the differences in babies. The CT scan will rule out any fears you have, just schedule it as soon as possible so you can get the good news and move on.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am a twin myself! I have a twin brother 4 minutes older than me. My mom actually didn't know she was having twins until we were born, but she watched her weight and ate healthy and her delivery weight with us was less than with any of our single birth siblings. We weighed 5lb3oz and 5lb 7oz and were weren't premees. Here are some sites to check out:
