Hi mom's,

I m looking for a place to get really good, FRESH produce. I don't need organic... i just want to go to a store and not have to rifle through 30 green peppers to find ONE or TWO that aren't wrinkly, soft and have finger nail marks on them. Seriously... my Jewel (Bolingbrook) is terrible with this... I see the produce manager all the time, and honestly, he's a big fat jerk! I brought him a bag of oranges one time and said 'you may want to pull these' (because two of the oranges inside with covered with mold) he said 'oh those must have been on the bottom' I said no actually they were right on top. what would it matter if they were on the bottom? should I expect my grocery store has mold oranges on the bottom?

Anyway, if you have a store that has really good produce, please share with me. I cook with a lot of ffresh ingredients and hate that it all seems sub par.

Thanks in advance!!

What can I do next?

I also live in Bolingbrook and can't stand to go to the Jewel closest to my house, which is the one at 53 and Boughton. We have actually called Jewel headquarters and complained about what a horrible store it is. The one at Boughton and Weber is much better and was just remodeled. Sometimes I will make the trip to Whole Foods, but that of course is incredibly expensive and WAY out of the way. Casey's and Trader Joe's on Washington in Naperville are okay too.

PS I think that we should start flooding the Jewel headquarters with phone calls and emails about the store at 53 and Boughton.

I get a delivery from them adn all the produce is fresh and tasty and lasts 2 weeks at least! Check it out it is well worth it! I too live in Bolingbrook and evdrytime I cancel a delivery and go to the store now I am upset because the stuff inthe store tastes crappy and spoils quickly! Good Luck!!
