Don't know of a theatre with a cry room but a few places have movies for moms during the week. Children 0-24 months are welcomed and you don't need to worry about crying. Block E (Crown Theatre) offers this. I think there are a few others in the Metro area too.

When my daughter was an infant (2 years ago) there used to be a program called Movies for Moms at 11:30 Wednesday mornings at the cinema at Block E. I don't know if they still offer it (could do a search on internet). The problems are they choose the movie and that's the only time and place (unless more theatres have added it.

My husband found that the movie theater in Inver Grove Heights has a showing for kids 3 and under on Thursday afternoons. They dim the lights, crying, and nursing is allowed. Check it out. It's located off of Upper 55th street.

i know several movie theaters have "mom's movie" times, usually during the day but they are times when you can take the kids and no one cares (basically, turn the whole theater into a "cry room" like in know for sure that block E does that.... but man, i haven't seen a cry room since the theater back home in small town montana! if you do find one, please post it cuz i would love that!!

The movie theater in Block E in Minneapolis actually has special showings for parents with small children. I think it's on Mondays, but I can't remember exactly.

Hi C.,

We checked out the Inver Grove Heights theater this past week. On Tuesdays, the first showing of all films is "matinee magic" with kids welcomed. Only thing is they didn't keep any lights on or turn the audio down... it was pretty loud. With an action movie, etc. I might request they turn it down. Nice theater though.
