So What Happened?

Thanks to everyone who gave me some wonderful suggestions ... we are now 25 weeks pregnant with a daughter!!! We have decided to name her Lydia Pearl. Lydia is just a beautiful name that we love and Pearl was my great-grandmother's middle name .... so we're keeping it in the family! Thanks to everyone!

My mother gave me good advice about naming children. Always choose the name that will look good on a door or professional sign. Then call them whatever you want to! I named my daughter Lorna. She's a professional today and loves her name. I never had the boy, but planned to name him Lawrence. These are old names, but distinguished and would look good with any number of letters following.

Well let me say first,Wow,I can't believe how popular Lane is!! I have a three yr old son named Lane. I had a friend, growing up(in the 70's and 80's!!)named Lane and always knew I would name a boy that. I thought it was un-common but am now seeing it everywhere!!! Same thing happened with my daughter Meghann, who was born in 1990!! Oh well!
Now to your question:
1) Lucca or Liam for a boy
2) Leighton,Leah,Layla or Laurel for a girl

I like traditional names and Lindsay is a fav of mine. Also I like Leigh (Lee) for a middle name. If it's a girl, you could do Layne like you mentioned and call her Laynie also... Congrats.

My 12 year old little girl's name is "Landre". When I was pregnant, I saw the name "Landry" in a name book (in the boys section) and loved it. I had never heard the name before, and I changed the spelling to make it more feminine. Everyone loved it! 2 years later, I had a little boy named Landry in my pre-school class, and since she has been born, in our community alone, there are now 6 Landre's w/ various spellings: Landry, Landree, Landri, Landrie, Landrey. I think it is a beautiful name for a boy or girl! :) Good luck!

I love all the "L" names. My name is L., and let me tell you there are not alot of L.'s in the world. In the 15 years I have been a nurse, there have only been about 4 that I have run across as my co-workers. I have run across only a few as patients also. It is an older name I guess and not very popular anymore. I think that if balances the cuteness of a little girl and the maturity of a professional. I personally don't like "popular" names and think that is what is cute as a little girl or boy will be heck as an adult with a possible profession, nothing like a doctor named Saphire or Diamond. I have always liked more traditional names. I also don't like names that can be either a boy or a girl, like Taylor. My mom and dad couldn't agree with my name: My mom wanted Laurie and My dad wanted L.. So they compromised--I was named L.----nicknamed Laurie. My family are the only ones that call me Laurie anymore. When I was a little girl and couldn't say "Laurie"--it came out "Lottie" that stuck as well. My grandmother and aunt still call me Lottie. Everyone else calls me, Laurie, and at work they call me L.. Husband calls be "Honey" for some reason when he says my name it comes out "Lora" so he pretty much sticks to "babe" and the like. You would think after 14 years he could get the phonics correct *giggle*. Kids call me Mom.
I call myself BLESSED!!!

Here are a few names: L. (Mine!!), Lauren, Laurel, Laurie, Lucas, Lehi, Lucia, Lucy, Lisa, Lana, Linda, Lisbeth, Liza, Lorna, Lena, Lottie, Lindy, and one of my favorites--- Liesel. Like from the sound of music.
Good Luck,
L. ;)

I have a friend who has named all of her children with C names: Cale, Colt, and Corine--even their middle names are C's. Oh, their last name starts with a C as well so they all have CCC as initials.
