Help! No Name for Our Baby Girl!!!

Hi Moms:)

I'm due with a baby girl any day now and we still can not settle on a name! Wondering if anyone can give us any suggestions!

My boys both have names with two syllables and I think I would like to continue that trend, if possible. Also something that is not too popular right now, but now crazy either. Id love to hear your ideas so we can name this baby before she arrives:)

Thanks so much,

N.

We have an Ava Grace and a Ruby Grace. Ava is pretty popular these days which we wanted to avoid, but we still love it.

Ruby is very rare, but not over the top crazy. People love it or hate it. We of course love it :)

Good Luck!!

the names I think of are not two syllables....

Take a look at your movies - look at the names of some of the "stars" and see what lights your fire!! You might be surprised if you start saying names out loud - she just might KICK you when the "Right" one is heard by her!!!

GOOD LUCK!!

Hi N.,

I like that you are trying to stay with the two syllable thing. I always notice when siblings names seem to go together or not. While my kids' names have different number of syllables, they are all biblical and we noticed after the fact, they all have an "an" in them. Do your boys have trendier (Zander, Caden) names or names that have been around a while (Brian, Michael)? If you want your daugher's name to "fit" with your boys' names, you might want to consider that too.
I love the name Hannah though it is becoming more popular. I also like Jenna, Jolynn, Joelle, and Abby.

What about Erin?

It's two syllables, not overly popular/trendy, and not "crazy".

You didn't mention what your boys' names are... so that would make a difference as well. If your boys have very traditional names (David, Mark, Robert, etc... then you would want a more traditional name for your daughter as well... not something "new age-y"). If your boys' names are more trendy new-agey- type names, then you would want that for your daughter as well.

My husband and I could not agree on a girl's name! I thought we would never name our daughter. ;) I started naming all the female characters from Lord of the Rings (one of our fave books/movies) as a joke and we both fell in love with the name Eowyn. Our daughter is Eowyn Elysabeth.

These are some of my favorite girl names...

Sarah Elizabeth
Meghan Grace
Peyton Alexandria
Amelia Ruth
Olivia Anne

I am all about the meanings of the names too...my son's middle name is Asher which means happy, blessed, and fortuanate. :) My SIL's middle name means "bitter"...not something I would want to saddle my child with. lol Good luck with your name hunt!

My husband and I had difficulties naming each of our three girls. We chose Jaida (Jada/Jayda) for one daughter and I still love the name. My list also included: Ashley, Kaylee, Kayla, Lexi, Lily (but I believe Lily is VERY popular right now), Tanya and Taylor.

Best wishes Mama and BabyGirl!

I was watching The Joy Luck Club last night, and thought Waverly, one of the characters, was such a pretty name for a girl. Not a common name, and has a beautiful meaning. Not two syllables though... You could give her a two syllable nickname tho- like VeVe (ViVi) or something like that. Or a one syllable middle name to make it flow. Good luck and congratulations!

My 21 year old is Selana Andraya, with the second A is a long A. I spelled her middle name different so it would get pronounced right, instead of Andrea. I heard the name on a movie called Merry Andrew with Danny Kaye that I saw on TV before we even started trying to get pregnant.
You could also use your families nationality to help chose names.
