Looking for Input on Local Consignment Stores for Selling Children's Clothes

Hi Mamas,
So I have saved all of my daughter's clothes for the past nearly three years since she was born (hoping to reuse it all) and now that we are having a boy in July--and no more after that!--I am trying to sort through everything and to figure out the best way to get rid of really well taken care of clothing (mostly brand names). Times are really tough for us right now and as much as I would like to donate the items to someone who needs them, I really must try to sell what I can. I had planned on trying to sell the nicest things in lots on Ebay and taking the rest to a second hand/consignment store, but I have no experience with consignment. I'm hoping for input as far as if there are better stores than others in terms of fair prices, times that clothes are accepted, etc. I am in the Lake Stevens area, so I'm looking generally throughout Snohomish County/North King County, but am willing to travel a little if there is a great store someone would like to recommend. Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

Cinderella's Closet on Main Street in Monroe is a kid's consignment store. They take only nice items and seem to be always full. I don't know much else about it but it has been in town for several years, so it must be doing something right. :)

Hi H.,

I love Other Mothers in Everett, it's right by Silver Lake. I haven't brought anything to them yet, but I know a lot of other Mama's who have and say that it's great!

Hi H.,
Have you looked at Other Mothers? The one that might be close to you is:
http://www.othermotherseverett.com/
I have bought stuff from them - they have alot of things (clothes, gear, toys, etc). I have not sold anything to them but I know they do buy. Check out the website. I know there is another but I am trying to remember. If I can, I will e-mail you with it. We just had a garage sell this past weekend and I had baby clothes in it, they sell fast - especially if you have a sign out that says 'BABY CLOTHES'. I sold them for 25 cents each but you could go a bit higher than that and I think they will sell anyway. If you know Ebay, definately use that for the nicer stuff, you will probably get more.

Good luck!
L.

Try Just For Kids in Everett. They are fairly picky about what they buy but give good prices for them. There is also the Childrens Warehouse on the Mukilteo Speedway. You might want to call ahead to the Childrens Warehouse though since their buyer is only there at certain times.
