Looking for Good Digital/video Camera

I am looking for review on a good digital camera/video camera. I would like one that does both so I don't have to haul around both my still camera and video camera. Don't want to spend more than $500.00.
Please tell me what you like and don't like about yours.

Thanks!
L.

love my flip! You can get decent stills from it but mostly it is a video camera. Its tiny and easy.

Sanyo Xacti is your answer.

Before I lost it (I remember the last time I used it, but haven't seen it, since - grrrrrrrr), I had a Sanyo Xacti. It took a little getting used to, because you hold it different than a normal camera (it has a "pistol grip," BUT, you can take video, zoom in and out while you're recording, AND you can take still shots WHILE you're shooting a video.

They have a bunch of different models, and the one that I had was actually waterproof, up to 4 or 5 feet.

Before I lost it, I loved it! (I know, it sounds like a country song.)

Happy shopping!

I LOVE the Flip Video Camera. It does NOT do stills but is really small. Its perfect for filming little, informal family videos. If you are wanting a truly high quality camera with lots of bells and whistles, this is not the camera to have.

BUT - it cost @ 150, and I can put it in my purse or coat pocket. It plugs into the computer via USB and loads it own software. You can use the wizard to add a title, music and credits to your movie and then post or email it. SUPER easy.

We have a "nice" video camera that we have not used in over a year, and the footage from my sons first few months in 2008 is still on it...

Do some research on the FLIP HD.
It is primarily a video camera. However, when you put the video on your computer it allows you to take a "snapshot" of any place in the video you want to. I love this feature as it is much easier for me to video my ever moving munchkins (5 & 2) and get a freeze frame later!
It only costs about $150. Takes amazing video, really easy to use and it is super small. Put in my purse no problem.

Here is a link for a review on this particular device. But look around on this website as they do great reviews on all kinds of cameras/video devices.
