Looking for Furniture Referral

Our family is expecting a second child and we just found out it is a boy, which is great, but my original plan of rooming two little girls in one room is out the window! So, I need a good yet affordable furniture store that has furniture that can grow with your child. I think I am going to keep the crib as a crib (we bought a convertible crib) and buy my little girl (only 2 and a half) a new bedroom set. I am looking for suggestions because what I have found online is quite expensive! Thanks for your help.

What can I do next?

Have you tried the Pittsburgh stand-by's: Levin, Babyland, Babies R Us? We got our son his dresser/mirror & headboard at Levin's & it was reasonable and has lasted for 4 years now.....but we didn't want to spend a lot because we figured his next furniture set would be around the longest (years-wise).
Oh--O. thing I regret was we bought him a O.-sided twin mattress for his bed, and now that he's bigger, I really wish I could flip it over every month....just something to keep in mind. Good luck!

You can try Craigslist if you don't mind second-hand. Lots of people sell cute toddler beds and dressers (princess ones, etc). They are usually only used for a short time, so they are often in good shape.

I'm not sure why sharing a room is out the window . . . Plenty of boy/girl siblings share rooms (think of all the families in 2br apts, or even smaller lofts). So, maybe its not totally out the window?

We've been shopping as well for things that I'm not finding second-hand, and Ikea has some pretty awesome stuff :). Their toddler beds are cute, their trundle beds are great, their organizational items are highly recommended. And all affordable!

Congrats and good luck :)!!

We just bought furniture for our child at Sheely's in North Lima, Ohio. I could not find anything in Pittsburgh to save my life. Sheely's is about 45 minutes from Cranberry/Wexford area -- not sure where you are or how far you're looking to travel.
