Hello, My little boy will be 2 next month month and I want to do a farm/barn animal party for him. I am looking for a place that could make cute cakes or cupcakes. Or the animals out of foundant and I could put them on my own cake. Also if any moms out there have ideas for this party theme I would greatly appreciate it. I have searched the net some and found a cute cow cake that I am debating on making or even the gingerbread barn, but if I could find a bakery to do the hard work than I could spend more time planning the fun stuff. :) Thanks a bunch!

What can I do next?

M.,
I was wondering it anyonw would mention this place because I have never been there, but heard it was really good. http://cityvoter.com/saint-cupcake-407-nw-17th-ave-northw...

Judging from the pictures yum. It is expensive however... So, perhaps you could use the animal crackers and put them on top of cup cakes. I think anywhere you get cupcakes there are either really good or and expensive or not so good, but cheap. I would make them myself-takes a second with a mix and the frosting part is easy if you put sprinkles and cookies on them.

Have fun!

I have been to St Cupcake and it is by far the best! I assume they would do special orders, but don't know. They have mini cupcakes that are rich enough for adults too. Their cupcakes are visually and tasty yummy.
I once did a theme party for one of my children where I made simple cupcakes (you could buy them) and put animal crackers on top. They were a hit and simple too.

we did this theme for my daughter's first birthday and we had a blast. first off, my hubby and i wore overalls and he even wore his boots and cowboy hat. we decorated the tables with pink gingham (you could use red or blue) fabric and had daisies filled in milk bottles and mason jars as the "center pieces." we scattered some hay around the base of the jars for added effect. we had a couple bails of hay in the back yard for the kids to climb on and it's super cheap. i made a big pink pig out of construction paper and the kids played "pin the tail on the piggy." we found a cow pinata at party city. the website birthdayexpress.com has some great farm theme stuff including favors and extra fun stuff for the kiddies.

we didn't do anything special for the cake...my family was more concerned about taste than how it looked (even though i LOVE being creative like you, i knew they would complain because sometimes faundant doesn't taste so great.)so we just took our napkin to our favorite bakery and had them copy the picture. but we did make one for her to destroy for herself in the shape of a piggie's face.

have a great time. i'm getting excited for you just thinking about it!!

p.s. i love st. cupcake too! i had them at the shower for my twins. i have to say, tho, the cream cheese frosting is a bit tart for some kids. my 11yo doesn't enjoy them and their buttercreme is just okay. they do special orders. like, i wanted all of mine to have light and dark pink crystal sprinkles on white frosting and they came out cute. but i doubt the cost is effective for 2yo. check out frostingonthecake.com or thedesserttray.com.

Beaverton Bakery can do absolutely anything, and their stuff tastes good, too.

I have always found Lamb's to be really helpful in the bakery department. They do fondant as well. We have all of our birthday cakes done there, and as long as the ideas/pictures you use aren't copy righted then it isn't a problem.

Good Luck!!
