Birthday Goodies for Girls Party

I was wanting to get some suggestions about who I could use for my daughters birthday party for a cake and I have thought about cookies. Her party is cheerleader themed. She is a competitive cheerleader and it would be really neat to have this kind of cake. I am open to ideas for a or by a baker. Thanks.

What can I do next?

Hey K.,

I have two recomendations:

I was at the $.99 Only store in NRH off Rufe Snow yesterday they are closing down but they had cheerleader themed plates, cups, napkins etc. Pack of 10 for $1.00 as well as Sam's $1.00 carrys them all the time in Haltom City off Denton Hwy by Big Lots.

Cake Freak. Angel makes awesome cakes from her house with the neatest flavors. SHe is created a Jungle treehouse tiered standing cake for my daughter to serve over 60 people for a $1.00 a slice and this is completely handcrafted. Just look at her designs and plus who else has flavors such as (but so much more in flavors):

Double Chocolate-chocolate cake with chocolate chunks topped with milk chocolate ganache

White Chocolate-white chocolate cake with white chocolate chunks topped with white chocolate cream cheese frosting

Black & White-chocolate cake with white chocolate chunks topped with white chocolate cream cheese frosting

Banana Pudding-vanilla cake with a hint of banana with banana pudding frosting topped with crushed vanilla wafers

Cookies & Cream-chocolate cake with cookie chunks topped with cookies & cream buttercream frosting

Blueberry-vanilla cake with hints of blueberry topped with blueberry buttercream

www.cakefreak.com

I went with the Black & White cake but with a white chocolate buttercream frosting.

Hi K.,
My name is S.. Iam doing a cheerleading party for my daughter as well.My invites are megaphones. I was thinking on doing small plastic megaphones filled with tattoos, pom-poms, ribbons and a cheer hair ribbon. Just a few ideas. Hope you come up with something your girl will enjoy.

Try the book "Hello Cupcake" for fantastic ideas and easy too.
Also, HEB in Waxahachie makes the most wonderful tasting cakes. I always get so many compliments on the flavor and moistness when I bring one. Yumm.

Hot Chocolates in Hurst! By far the best. One of the owners has a little girl she bring to work with her (1 year old) and they also have candy camps and such so they are very family oriented. Really great place for kids and adults alike. Since finding them in 2005 I've gone no place else! We got our wedding cake there, and once the people attending our wedding tasted the cake they have all switched too! As well as being affordable, they are also very creative with the designs of their cakes. They are also very cooperative, in 06 we found out that I have Celiacs (allergy to gluten and wheat) and they experimented with different recipes until they found a gluten free one that tastes as good as the regular cakes!

Don't know where you live, but Society Bakery on Lower Greenville in Dallas has amazing cakes, cupcakes and cookies - and she donates a portion of her profits to charity! We actually just moved out of town, and we stopped there and cupcakes at 10am the day we left. They're attached to a nice little sandwich/coffee/flower place, too.

Hi K.,

I just threw a sleepover Bday party for my 11 yr old. She loves Sprinkles' red velvet cupcakes but wanted a cake. So I researched and decided to go with Society Bakery ( Grnville n McCommas ). They did a cute cake with 3 girls in sleeping bags on top. I am sure they could do a cake according to your cheerleader theme. The "artwork" on our cake alone was $20. The cake was delicious n moist. The cream cheese icing my daughter loves tasted more like vanilla buttercream. All in all we liked it and would recommend it to our friends.
By the way, there was a lady tht made my daughter's hello kitty cake last year in half chocolate and half vanilla. She takes awhile to respond but she's a little less expensive than Society Bakery. She can whip up anything n she delivers! Her name is Connie Hash n her email is ____@____.com

Good luck! Let me know wht u end up doing. If u stumble upon someone good pls let me know. Always like trying out new people n places.

K.,

you might want to consider special birthday cupcakes which have been a hit at some of our gatherings. Go to cupcake cottage on the west side of fw (camp bowie & el campo). They can make mini cupcakes or regular size cupcakes in all kinds of flavors. They are delicious and the mini ones are much easier for kids to eat. You could make a football field out of cardboard and display the cupcakes on prior to eating if you want to stay with your cheerleading theme.

My daughter did a party kind of like yours, cheerleader, etc and what she did was have a very small cake made for my granddaughter with cheerleading decorations. Then she had cupcakes made and found small plastic cheerleader outlines to put on top. I didn't get to see but she said it was really cute. Hope this helps.

We had a cheerleader party and hired 2 local high school cheerleaders to come lead the party. They wore their uniforms, taught all the girls a cheer, and we took each girl's photo up on a mount on the 2 high schoolers.
Great success. Got cheap pompoms as favors.
