I was recently surprised and saddened to find out that Kiddie Kandids has closed their doors. I took my son for all of his milestone pictures there and they always did such a great job. I loved the little props and friendly staff. Does anyone have any suggesstions of where I can take my little guys. Can anyone give me feedback on JcPenney,Picture People. etc.. Recent experiences,opinions,locations and suggesstions are all greatly appreciated.
We're also in Costa Mesa! We just went to the Picture People in the Santa Ana Main Place mall for my Daughter's 1st Bday and were really happy with the pictures. They take walk-ins but we made an appointment and it seemed to get us in a little quicker. My profile picture was one that was taken that day:)
Go to PPA.com (Professional Photographers of America) there you can search for photographers in your area, and I think it even gives links to member's websites. I'd offer my services, but I'm in MN!
I think The Picture People are great! There is NO sitting fee and you get your pictures the same day. I went there for maternity pictures and again for pictures of my 3 boys. Everyone was SO professional and the pictures turned out adorable! The wait for my pictures was a big lengthy on the 2nd visit but, I think that was because we went on a weekend right before the holidays... It was pretty crazy in there. The 1st visit was a fairly quick visit. I LOVE them and plan and going back. In my opinion, Sears/JC Penney just aren't the same... at least in our area.

I've been to Picture People both in Redondo Beach and Brea. Haven't yet tried the one at Mainplace. Redondo was an OK experience but both times we've been to Brea has been horrible. The photographers took too few pictures, preferred to entertain my son (when I had 2-3 people of my own there to do that) and took blurred or unusable pics. We were told the wait would only be 20 minutes and each time it ended up being 1.5 hours! With a young toddler, we would have appreciated a more honest response so we could leave, walk around the mall, and entertain him. That plus the fact that they have no bathroom and the nearest one was a very dirty one in Sears made changing diapers a hassle. It also didn't seem to make a difference that we had an appt; we still waited an hour to start the shoot. I'll try the Mainplace location because the coupons and lack of sitting fee are great.
