I've heard great things about Partners Ob-Gyn (in Strip Mall by St. Johns near the Burlington outlet), less so about Metro Ob-gyn but I think that they're still good too.(I'm a doctor so think I get some good info)

Hi -

I can HIGHLY recommend Generations clinic in Shoreview, MN. I used them and had our babies at St John's in Maplewood. They are a SMALL clinic - 2 certified nurse midwives and one obgyn. I saw and delivered with the nurse midwives. Never even saw the Ob. The midwives are EXCELLENT and very personal - you're not just another pregnant lady! I really liked the personal care and the respect that they showed me. Here is thier info:

Rebecca Barosso and Mary Hayes CNMs
Generations Women's Health Center under the guidance of Dr. Laura France, ObGyn. 1030 West County Rd E. in Shoreview, ###-###-####.

More info on Certified nurse midwives can be found at: http://www.minnesotabirthnetwork.com/

Good luck and congratulations!

I was in exactly your situation when I arrived in St. Paul 2 years ago (then 20 weeks pregnant and facing a desparately wanted vbac birth). I researched obgyns, mid-wives, and Family Practice docs and their vbac rates. I ended up at what I believe to be one of the best if not the best practice in the twin cities. It is called Generations Women's Health Clinic. 1030 W. Co. R. E. Shoreview, MN ###-###-#### There are 2 mid-wives and 1 OB in the practice. You can choose to see the mid-wives only (in which case the OB will see you if their is any sort of issue). This is what I did and I LOVED THEM!!! They have one of the highest v-bac success rates in the country (like 96%!!!) Their names are Rebecca Burroso and M. Hayes and they have been practicing together for 20+ years. The OBGYN in the practice also has a great reputation. Her name is Dr. Laura France. She backs up the mid-wives as well as sees patients of her own. The practice delivers at St. Johns and St. Joes. Although as of now, all VBACs have to go to St. Johns because they have a 24 hr. in house on call OB. Please excuse the rambling...I am a doula and just get excited to talk about childbirth:>) Let me know if you need anything else. Welcome to the area!

Hi,
I use an all women clinic in Maplewood-Partners in Obstetrics and Gynecology. I have seen all the doctors, but really love my OB-Dr. Reetu Syal. They deliver at Saint John's which has a nice birthing center.

I have been going to Partners OB/GYN in Maplewood for years. I see Dr. Votel, but I think most of them are good. They are all women and they only deliver at St. John's. I have a 3 yr old, 1 yr old, and another on the way (due March 30th). Good luck!

I see Dr. Aimee Kelly at Metro OBGYN (1655 Beam Ave #102 ph####-###-####. I love her and there are 7 other doctors in the same office. The staff is wonderful and it is right by the Maplewood Mall and a hospital I think may be St. Joesphs not sure. Hope this helps. Enjoy your 2nd child.

Partner's OBGYN (on Beam Ave) is a great practice and has all women doctor's. I too just moved to the area about 7 months ago and am due with my second any minute. I started out at this practice but ended up switching to a group in Woodbury since I wanted to deliver at Woodwinds hospital. However, if I was looking for a group that deliver's at St. John's I would have stayed with their practice. They are all women doctor's and I think there is about 5 of them. Not sure how important that is to you but there are very few practices in MN that are all women. Good luck!
