Looking for a good pediatrician in the Crystal Lake area. We are moving out there this weekend, so figure I need to get a move on! I also need to find a pediatric dentist, an obgyn and an internist for both my husband and me. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks :)
We see Dr. Megahed with Children and Teens in Algonquin IL. www.childrenandteens.com. Love him. Great with the kids and funny. My husband and I go to a family practioner in Algonquin as well. He is part of Alpine Family Physicians. His name is Dr. Raza Mehdi. Love our dentist too. They are off Rt 47 in Huntley. Century Dental is their name. Good luck!
Drs. Tjaden & O'Brien are excellent! They started their own practice a few years ago as the one they were with in Crystal Lake was getting too big & felt that their patients were getting lost in the shuffle. At thier old place my child would see Dr. Tjaden for his exams, but whoever for a sick visit so I would have to explain his history all over again to the next doc. I felt like a broken record after a while. They also use Electronic medical records so when I call overnight they have my child's chart there at home so they can look back at everything. It's great! The office is VERY kid friendly my kid never wants to leave, can say enough about these docs! Staff is super friendly too.

Dr. Kaufman at Pediatric Associates of Barrington is very good. They have offices in Crystal Lake and Barrington and I can't say enough good things about him. His office staff is very nice and the other doctors are all very good too. Dr. Kaufman is on the board for the local special education group for 0-3 year olds. He is one of those doctors that seems like a genius and has a pretty good bedside manner. My kids like him a lot. My review of him is under the local business reviews. We don't live in Crystal Lake, but we do take our children to the pediatric dentist out there. Dr. Tony over at Crystal Lake Pediatric Dental is excellent! My kids LOVE going to the dentist! lol

I take my kids to Dr. Thida Maw in LITH on Randall. She's fabulous....cares alot about the kids, even calls me directly to follow up when they are sick. She is very cautious when there is any clue that something can be wrong, and she doesn't just throw antibiotics at everything. She has also worked with me on using an alternate vaccination schedule.
For my reg doctor I go to Susan Loring, she is right on the corner of 14 and Woodstock. Very caring and really gets to know you. Very kid friendly too...she often has her own kids in the office. For obgyn I see a midwife, Rebecca Rose, who is in Mchenry. I just started going there after being with Fox VAlley Women's Health in Elgin for 5 or 6 years. I liked them ok but I wanted something closer and I love Rebecca's laid back and understanding approach
I like doctors who I feel take their time and really listen to what I have to say and don't treat me like I don't know what I am talking about. I also prefer a more natural approach and I have been very happy with these people. If you are interested in their addresses/phone numbers just send me a message.
