Looking for a Pediatrician and OB Gyn in Lake Barrington or Surrounding Area

I recently had to change OBGYNs due to insurance purposes but saw Drs. Crandall and Meyer in Lake Barrington. Dr. Meyer helped me through some painful ovarian cysts and shortly after those issues, Dr. Crandall performed a D&C for me in February - it was obviously a rough time and he was amazing as was the hospital the practice is associated with - Good Sheppard. Shortly after an ultrasound revealing that I had lost the baby, Dr. Crandall actually sat next to me to comfort me, apologized and was very gentle about my options. I'd never had a doctor that was so down to earth yet professional in such a tough situation. I was very impressed. Both he and Dr. Meyer spend a good amount of time with me and never made me feel as though they are rushing through anything. They will ask several times during an exam/visit if you have any questions or concerns. They even pause for a moment for you to collect your thoughts and ask again! I've written a review on the mamasource website for both of them you can look for. I highly recommend them - they're both great doctors! Good luck.

Hi! For Ob/Gyne - Dr. Thomas Meyer on Pepper Road in Lake Barrington. Phone 847/382-7330. He is so wonderful and so is his staff.

For Pediatrician- Pediatric Specialists. We see Dr. Barry Altschuler but all the doctors are great. What I like is that you are assigned to one doctor but of course if he/she isn't in on a particular day, you will be seen by one of the others. This way, one doctor really gets to know your child and your not having to give a history every time! They have Crystal Lake and Barrington Offices. I only know Crystal Lake's number right now but they can provide Barrington's - ###-###-####.

For doctors that I would not recomend - Pediatric ASSOCIATES
in Barrington and Crystal Lake. Different doctor EVERY time and every doctor we dealt with was not very engaging with my children. Staff very unfriendly too.

HI S., my name is C. and I live in Crystal Lake. I have been going to Dr. Novas & Associates for about 10 years. They are on Lions St. off Route 14 in Barrington. They have great hours, some early mornings, some late nights to accommodate many schedules. I also have been using Lakeshore Pediatrics in Barrington, off of Route 22 next to Good Shephard Hospital for 9 years and absolutely love them. There are 7 doctors in the practice along with 2 or 3 nurse practitioners so there is always someone available. Some moms in my moms group can't believe I drive that far but it is actually only 20 minutes away and I know all of the doctors. Hope one of these help you out.

We see Dr. Jason Tjaden at Pediatric Associates of Barrington, S.C. and we think he is really great. They have offices in Crystal Lake and Barrington. We have a 14 month old son and we have been going there since he was born.

I also live in Lake Barrington. I take my little boy to Pediatric Specialists of the Northwest. Their telephone number is ###-###-####, they are located next to the White Hen and Harris Bank on Shoreline Road. I have been more than happy with the service and my little boy really likes the doctor. Hope this helps.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE our Peds & my OB/GYN. lake Shore pediatrics is in Barrington right next to Good Shepard. Dr. Zimmerman has delivered all of the children (7) in my husband's family. He is WONDERFUL!! The Nurse Practitioner Stephaine is fantastic too!

I have a 16 month old daughter as well. My OBGYN is Dr. Robert Pines at Barrington Health Care for Women. He is affiliated with Good Shepard Hospital. He is wonderful.
Our pediatrician is Lake Shore Pediatrics- also with Good Shepard. They are a great practice with quite a few doctors.

I live in Lk Zurich. As a pediatrician, we have been using Childrens and Teens in Barrington ###-###-####, on Rte 22 across the road from Good Shepherd Hosp)since my 10 yr old son was born. Their offices arent fancy, but they have several doctors and good nurse practioners, and we can always get them in for an appointment.
For an OB/GYN, I use Meyer Crandall in Barrington on Pepper Rd. Dr Meyer is pretty dry, Dr Crandall is more personable but both are very good, and a lot of my friends also go there. Good luck.
