Looking for a New Pediatrician Northside of Chicago

Dr. Ettner at St. Francis in Evanston. He is flat out one of the best. He is a GP, formly an OB/GYN. He loves children and mine really like him. ###-###-####. he is referred on mamasource quite often. I found him thru my midwife.

He went above and beyond the call of duty for us. If you would like more info-let me know.

I don't know where you live in Chicago but I have an amazing pediatrician. He is at Ressurrection Hospital at Harlem and Talcott on the Northwest side of the city. My son is 12 and had a massive tumor inn his spleen in February and he had surgery to have his spleen removed and this doctor could not have been more wonderful through the process. He recommended a surgeon that was outstanding. I owe him alot. After the surgery, Jeremy came home on wednesday and friday he had trouble breathing and I took him in and Dr. Toussante sat with us that Friday night until the surgeon called and he ended up being re-admitted for fluid on his lungs but the point is Dr Toussante's wife called him while we were waiting for the surgeon and he told his wife that he had a patient he had to stay with until he knew what was going on. He was so sweet. His name is Dr. Toussante and he has a partner named Dr. Powell. They only do pediatric medicine. His number is ###-###-####

I'm not sure how north you are, but I LOVE our Pediatrician! He is part of the Streeterville Pediatrics Group. There are 3 Docs in the office, Dr.Barrows, Brown & Starr. (2 men & 1 woman) They are located @ 233 E. Erie ph# ###-###-####. Just an example: Dr. Barrows called me @ home one time on a Sunday just to give me some test results for my son. (The test was neg. by the way - meaning he was not sick!!) I live near midway airport and refuse to switch doctors! Good luck

I also Live on the north side. I absolutely love our pediatriician Dr. Rose @ Medical Care Group @ Rush North Shore. Last year my 2yo kept breaking out with a rash and they exhausted every option to pinpoint what it was. We finally determined trough an awesome allergist that my daughter has a peanut-sensitivity!!! Her onset of symptoms was so strange that I am so glad they didn't just right it off. GOOD LUCK!!!

Though I am a new mom to a 4 week old I have to say that I absolutely love our pediatrician office. Lakeview Pediatrics on Belmont (just east of the Belmont, Ashland, Lincoln intersection) has several pediatricians. We've meet 3 of them and love them all, especially Drs. Perlman and Chang. They are so comforting and knowledgeable. I actually look forward to going there. They treat my little girl like she is their only patient and they take the time with us even though they are very busy. Our 2nd week home, we called and Dr. Chang spent over 30 minutes on the phone with us at 8pm at night. She was very patient, helpful, and understanding. I think all of the pediatricians in the office are like this and I look forward to my daughter growing up with this office.

Dr. Barbara Slivnick is awesome!! She's on Sheffield just north of Diversey, and her number is ###-###-####. All the doctors in her group are great, but we've gone to her for 13 years and will be very sad when my daughter's too old to see her anymore.

I also go to Dr Rose with Medical Care Group in Skokie. I live in Andersonville & drive about 25 minutes to see her in Skokie but it is well worth it! She is great with both my girls (3.5 year old & 8 month old). She has a great bedside manner with the kids & is very receptive to listening to my questions. I NEVER feel rushed through my appointments (whether they are routine well baby visits or sick visits)! Also, her office is VERY clean & the office staff is quite pleasant!

I don't know how far north you are, but if you are willing to go into Evanston. Evanston northwesten has great dr.s My Daughter and son both see Dr. Roth she is great and you can look her up on the web. I belive its Enh. org.

You NEED to go see our doctor. Dr. Wanda Karaman is located at the corner of Peterson & Cicero. Her number is 773-777-KIDS (5437). There are four women - Dr. Karaman, Dr. Kolezeva, Dr. Kim and Dr. Peera - who are all outstanding. They are affiliated with several hospitals (I know St. Joseph because that's ours) including Children's Memorial.

They are wonderfully thorough (Dr. Karaman caught my son's heart murmur leading to heart surgery before he was 2 weeks old) and do not hesitate to send you to a specialist.

The office staff is pleasant and wait times are average. The thing I like best is the walk-in time slot from 9-10am and again form 1-2pm. You don't need an appointment to walk-in. One doctor is always available for walk-ins only, so all will be seen! It's wonderful when you wake up with a sick child - no worry about trying to squeeze in an appointment. I'm also finding out that walk-ins aren't done everywhere, since none of my friends or family's pediatricians have that offer.

My hairdresser turned me onto Dr. Karaman 3 years ago and I can honestly say that is one of the best decisions I have ever made. She calls to follow-up after I've been to other doctors (and she came to see Chase in the hospital every other day when he had the surgery - even if she wasn't on call).

I can't say enough about the wonderful doctors of Northside Suburban Pediatrics. Give them a call now!

Another mom recommended the same practice we use. We love them. I have 2 boys, 4 and 6. We go to Dr. Powell. He is great, extremely forthcoming with information. He always remembers things about each boy and talks to them about it. (E.g., he remembered my older son was singing Pearl Jam and asked him is his musical tastes changed, months later!)

Dr. Meryl Perlman of Lakeview Pediatrics. The office is located on Belmont and Ashland (approximately). There are 5 women in the practice, and the nursing staff is wonderful. I do not have enough positive things to say about Dr. Perlman and her demeanor towards me as well as my 1 year-old son. Their phone number is ###-###-####

I have a 17 month old daughter and have been with Lakeview Pediatrics since she was born. It is located at Belmont/Ashland. I love all of the doctors I have seen there. I have not seen Dr. Salem so I cannot comment on her, but LOVE Drs. Chang, Pearlman, Ramadan and Newport. It is a smaller practice. You can get in same day, no problem. Always get a call back from a nurse same day if I have a concern. Good luck in your quest.
