Recommendations for Pediatrician or Peds Practice in or near Lakeview Area
I'm looking to change pediatricians and have no idea where to start! Anyone have recommendations on a pediatrician or a practice in the Lakeview or nearby area? I'm not totally anti-vaccine but would like to have a doctor who is open to discuss a varied vaccine schedule. Also, availability (office hours) and easy parking would be a plus as well!

We have used lakeview peds for 3 years. We see Dr. Newport she is fantastic and we have seen all the other docs they are equally good. Dr. Salem is a bit older and has a different perspective on things however we have not had a problem with her. The other docs are a bit younger and have a more modern view on things.

Hi Jen
It's so very hard to find someone to care for your child.Don't go to Lakeview Pediatrics, Dr. Salem is awful, the patients are definately not her priority! however they had a great dr. Suha Ramadan I have not found her yet but will follow her where she goes. She saw my Daughter for 4 years and I can't sat enough fantastic things about her. I have heard nice things about dr. Monroe the practice is at Sheefield and Diversey.
Good Luck

We use Children's Healthcare Associates, and I would give them mixed reviews. Our doctor is Dr. Gosch. She's fine, but the practice doesn't seem very organized for accepting new patients who aren't newborns (we didn't get any kind of information packet when we moved). On the plus side, they are pretty responsive, and if you schedule in advance you can usually get a good appointment time. Waiting times are usually not too bad (even if you arrive early). I know they've been a bit flexible with vaccines -- they've always said that if we didn't want to do them all on the same day, we could come back and just see the nurse. Those appointments are pretty easy to schedule and run pretty much on-time. The parking is an added plus. We moved here from Michigan and loved our nurse practitioner there (and felt that the practice was very well-organized, etc.). She was much more supportive of/in tune with our natural/attachment parenting style (I'm still breastfeeding my 16-month-old, we're vegetarian, etc.). I haven't gotten an overtly negative response at Children's Healthcare Assoc., but I haven't felt supported in the same way.
Best of luck with your decision,
R.

Don't go to lakeview pediatrics. Dr. salem will not even discuss delayed vacs. I found them to be quite rude.

Children Healthcare Associates-affiliated w/Northwestern and Childrens. They are all good, but in particular Dr. Lyons or Dr. Monroe. Located at Diversey and Sheffield, validated parking. Nurses call back quickly, I can always get a sick appt. Not positive about the delayed vaccine scheduling, but I do think they'd be open to discussing this. ###-###-####!

Jen,
We see Dr. Armand Gonzalzles at Riverview Pediatrics. I have two boys that are ages 2 and 10 months and he has had no problem spreading the vaccines out. He explained what each vaccine is and we came up with a schedule that we all agreed on, including putting the MMR off until after my son was 2 years old. He does not do the flu shot since I'm a SAHM and there is little exposure for my sons. We do one or two shots a visit, never more and he is willing to have an extended conversation about it all without being condescending or dismissive. I really appreciated that about him. It is located at 2345 N. Ashland and there is a parking lot with the building so no problems with parking. The phone number is ###-###-#### in case you are interested. Best of luck to you!
