I was looking for suggestions on pediatrician around the Mckinney area.

We hate Dr. Burton. Three people I know as well as myself have switched from him to Jeffrey Alvis because Burton's staff is so stupidly inept and unprofessional. They've misdiagnosed my child on more than one occasion, only to re-diagnose her the following day... There are just too many details that make me loathe to hear them in a good light. We finally dropped them when my daughter was 19 months old, 19 months TOO LATE as far as I'm concerned! Go ahead and try them out... if enough people recommend them, then maybe you'll be lucky, too, and not have multiple horrid experiences as we did. By the way, ratings for him at yahoo.com give him 1 star out of 5... these are ratings by local moms... I'd suggest you interview the practice (and a few more, if you can) before you switch doctors - that way you'll know from your OWN perspective which pediatrician you like best in the area.
All About Children in McKinney. I've got two kids and we are there all the time and I just love every doctor there.
Another vote for PHA. We use Dr Sutton but have seen just about everyone in the practice. They are fantastic!!

I also will second and third and forth PHA. We see Dr. Catherine Frank, and I really like her. She remembers us, even if it's been almost a year. She's a mom of younger children also, so she really understand. I had had issues with Dr. Kessinger when we first started going and I had babies. But the last few Saturdays we have had to go in, we saw him and he was nice and helpful also. And compassionate. Also nice to see when dealing with sick kiddos.
I second Debi's recommendation. We see Dr. Sutton who is also in that building. They're all wonderful, we've had to see a couple of the other ones when Dr. Sutton was out. Good Luck!

We use Raintree Pediatrics in Allen. I LOVE these people! There are 2 main doctors, and we used to see Dr. Yuri Cook, but now we normally see Amber Hollifield P.A. She's just easier to get in to see, although we've never had to wait. The office is very friendly, clean, and I've never waited more than 15 minutes in the waiting area (and that is rare). I love Amber, but I like Dr Cook as well....she's just very easy to talk to. She only prescribes antibiotics when they are absolutely necessary and just has the same basic parenting 'philosophy' as I do. Good luck. I feel so blessed to have never had to switch drs and we've been going for more than 5 years.
