Hello ladies,

Well I've reached that time when my daughter has taken an interest in other kids and people. She is 7 months now (hard to believe, she's grown up so fast!) So I was wondering if anyone had any good groups either in the Hillsboro or Sherwood area that is either free or fairly cheap. I would also be interested in starting a group as well if I get enough interest.

thanks and have a great week!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much to everyone who responded to my question, I am looking forward to doing some research here this afternoon and seeing about joining a group.

This is probably one of the best sites for mom information that was handed to me!! Thank you again and I wish everyone a safe and warm summer!!

I was going to tell you about the Hillsboro Infant & Toddler playgroup, but Peggy beat me to it! :0) (Hi Peggy!)
If you get onto meetup.com, there are many playgroups in the Portland metro area that are for different areas of town, as well as different age groups. They are usually free to $10 per year... which these days is very cheap! I'm sure you'll find a great group to join & you guys will start having fun real soon!! :0)
Best Wishes--

Hi N.,

Time does fly, eh? I know it is a bit hard to get playgroups started.... I have two kids, a 3.5 yo and 1 yo, For the older, it took about 1 year to really get a playgroup started, but it does work. And I am now looking for a group for my lil one. I have one friend that has a 1 yo and we are trying to start one. We live in the Tigard area near Scholls Ferry, so almost Beaverton. Maybe the three of us could try and see if there is a fit for the kids?
Let me know your thoughts, and if there are other women you find interested, let me know. I would be up for it.

Hi N.,

There are quite a few mom's groups on meetup.com that are either free or very cheap. Here are a few links:
http://moms.meetup.com/2776/
http://attachmentparenting.meetup.com/451/
http://moms.meetup.com/2683/
http://moms.meetup.com/1568/
http://hipmama.meetup.com/176/

I would join more than one, so there will always be new moms, new kids, and new activities. There's even one that started on meetup.com, and then just created it's own webpage. It's a Green Parenting group, if you are into that sort of thing. I find that it is probably my favorite group, as the activities are really fun, and if there are snacks, they are always really healthy for my daughter. Their website is www.portlandgreenparenting.com.
I hope that helps! Maybe I'll see you at a meetup soon! :)

Hello N.,
I am part of the HIllsboro Infant and toddler play group through meetup.com (you should check us out). It is a great group; of moms and their kids. In the babies group we have kiddos around your daughters age and some that are almost a year old.
