I am looking to purchase a cookbook for my stepson. He is 27 years old, single and really likes to cook. I know what you are thinking, yes he will make some lady very happy one day with him loving to cook. So we thought we would buy him a cookbook for Christmas. He likes cookbooks that are regular, everyday food nothing really fancy plus he likes them to have pictures so he can see what he is going to cook. He also has a great sense of humor.
We were looking at a cookbook but I don't know if it has pictures in it. It is: Will Cook for Sex: A Guy's Guide to Cooking. If you have seen this book and know if it has pictures of the food in it please let me know. Also if you know of any other funny but good cookbooks with pictures of the food in it please let me know that too.

I have seen a cookbook called "A Man, A Can and A Plan". Its all about using canned products to create yummy meals.

All of the Alton Brown books are great, as is one called "Cooking for geeks."

I checked out the cookbooks on Amazon. I'm leaning more toward the "A Man, A Can, & a Plan" cookbook....simply because he'll be flying solo on a poverty salary thru the next few years. For your stepson, if he can afford lobster (which is one of the recipes) then your original choice sounds perfect! Again, great idea.....
I'm going to second the Alton Brown suggestion. We have a book of his and my husband likes the "why" behind the explanations of *how* things cook/bake, etc. His writing tone is unique and makes for easy, engaging reading.
Nadia Gs Bitchin Kitchin is prob right up his alley.. she is on the food channel.. we like her a lot... she is not your mainstream cook by any means but she has a wealth of info and healthy recipes..
My mom and dad got my oldest the "Gross Grub" cookbook. It is more of a gag kind of gift but would fit nicely with your cooking theme.
It has things like Kitty litter casserole, meatballs in the shape of poos, in a bed or rice or orzo.

Since he has a great sense of humor, what about a "cooking for dummies" book. I love those "dummies" book. A friend of mine recently graduated from Culinary School as a pastry chef, so I got her "Baking for Dummies"
Hmm. Amazon has plenty of reviews for you to read regarding that book "Will cook for sex." I didn't read them all, but perhaps someone will mention in their review whether there are pictures or not. Also, on Amazon, there's a section on that link above where they say "Customers who bought this item also bought:" and there are 8 pages (scroll to the left or right, there's a button) of other suggestions. Some are kind of raunchy, but that's b/c "sex" is in the title of this book. But I love that feature on amazon. Perhaps you can find a book with higher stars (although your choice is 4 out of 5 stars).

Hawaii's Spam Cookbook. Someone got it for my husband it is so funny there is a spam cookbook. There are actually some intresting recipes in it. Plus funny little drawings. it is by Ann Kondo Corum

If you are still looking for suggestions, I will add "Help! My apartment has a kitchen!" by Kevin Mills and Nancy Mills. Kevin is the student who discovered his kitchen and Nancy is his mom, adding great tips on what to look out for in given recipe. Great recipes – no pictures in case that is important (in my edition anyway).
