Hi MOms, I am almost ready to place my little 3 years old son in The Little Gym program, the one that is located on Preston and Forest Lane. Has any of you had any experience with the little gym? any comments or suggestions? good or bad? I really need some input on this since I never tried anything like that before.

Hi there. My daugher is 3 and she is signed up for the Gymnastics class at Little Gym (Preston/Forest) and she loves it! I first had signed her up for the Ballet/Tap class but I observed that they spent too much time changing from ballet shoes to tap shoes so I felt that there was a lot of time wasted. So after about 3 classes I asked to switch her to the Gymnastics class and she just loves it. And I have a 1 year old that I bring with me and they have a play area for little ones to play in while their siblings are in the class so it works out perfect. And the instructors are very involoved and if you miss a class you can make it up in any other class. They also do free trial days so you can bring her to test it out and see how she does. There website has a description of all the classes that are offered so you can see which one you think is best for your child.

My daughter who is just turning three next month has been going to little gym (the one at Forest) for a year and has loved every minute of it. It's a great place to host b'day parties as well. C.

HI R.,
I actually used the Little Gym Bug's program when my son was 4 months old. We loved it! Both my son and I got something out of it! I got more comfortable handling him and he got more confidence with his motor abilities. The staff is great there!

We have our two-year-old in a program similar to what they offer at Little Gym, but it's at Gym Kids in Flower Mound. We love it! And McKenna has a blast while learning such skills as eye-hand coordination, balance, muscle control and strengthening, as well as taking turns, following directions, and waiting her turn. It's done wonders for her in those areas. I highly recommend it!

The only drawback is that it can get costly. McKenna's tuition from August to December is $330 (this is on top of my 8 year-old's gymnastics competition team tuition of $800 for the same amount of time!).

We signed up our daughter for classes at A Little Gym in Arlington and she loved it! If you are looking for a class that will teach them some fundamentals of gymnastics with a lot of fun, then this is the one. But, don't expect any olympic gymnists to come out of there. Good Luck and hope
your little one enjoys himeself!

R.,

We have had our daughter in the little gym for a couple of months. We actually use the one off Mockingbird. She loves it! She's in the 10-18 month class, and we've been very happy with the staff and what she's learned. She's only a year old, but she tries to do the flips and stuff that she learns in the class at home!! I highly recommend it.

We have visited several of the children's gyms for introductory classes and have determined that The Little Gym is superior to the others. Some of them were more of a "romper-room" free-for-all, but The Little Gym is more structured so that your child can actually gain skills. I am sure your son will love it!

Although we haven't signed up for the program, we've had my daughter's 2nd & 3rd birthday parties at The Little Gym, although in different locations from the one you're looking at. The staff was terrific & the kids had an absolute BLAST!! (and the other moms thanked me as our little monkeys got to burn off some of that wonderful - but tiring - excess energy) Highly recommend!
