Let's Discuss Hillary's E-mails....

Since someone posted about the site being boring.... (thanks!!)

I'll ask the question I've been wanting to ask.....

Why do you think the FBI let her walk away without charging her - even though they found over 110 instances where she sent classified e-mails?

Do you think it's because Comey and the Clinton's go WAY back - to White Water days....or because Comey didn't want to wind up dead like John Ashe and others that were supposed to testify against her?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

so turning a blind eye to it will make it go away? Why don't you want to discuss?

Petraus lost his career for less. Nixon resigned before he could be impeached - for much less than 110 e-mails. We need to talk about it.

Politics has A LOT to do with parenting. It's your morals. It's your values. It's your platform.

Karl rove is no t running for president and he didn't send classified emails. Huge difference. CaOmoare apples to apples, not oranges.

A question I have is how is this different than when Bush-Cheney deleted thousands of emails? Why the huge investigation into Hilary and not into Bush?

Please, let's not. The question as asked includes your point of view. No good can come from this.
Peace.

No, please. Let's not go here. It was insufferable 4 years ago during the election season. Let's not make it that way again. There are plenty of places to discuss these issues with people in your life, you've made your position clear, I doubt you're going to change any minds or have yours changed. Please don't clutter up Mamapedia with issues that are important to you but may sound to others like conspiracy theories that nothing to do with parenting. We desperately need new members who want to come to a site with reasonable women wanting to help, not political posturing.

I think she wasn't charged because not everything that is unwise rises to the threshold of being illegal.

I also read the report carefully, and wish that instead of the political, self-serving focus on Hillary, the congress would focus on the point in the FBI report that said that the entire culture at DoS is careless about security, and by all apparent indications, has been that way since well before Hillary was there. IMO, this should be the focus - fixing the underlying culture problem so that this doesn't happen again, at any level in the department.

I don't mind respectful political discussions.

I think this sight is based on parents asking parents about issues related to parenting. Your question certainly is interesting to many people but it's not related to related to the purpose of this sight. I suggest there are other sights made for the purpose of political discussions.

I'm on this site to learn and share family issues. I find it interesting; not boring. If I wanted to discuss politics, I'd find a different site.

We all have different amounts of time and energy. We have to choose how we use that time and energy. We are not turning a "blind eye" when we choose to not get involved in discussing political issues.

W. W., I love reading your responses to questions as you usually have great advice, but I have to disagree with you. Politics have nothing to do with parenting. Let's not start political discussions. You know what they say about politics and religion!

They investigated, they determined no charges needed to be brought up, which means they cleared her. The far right has been on a campaign to discredit Clinton for over a decade now, ever since she became the clear front runner to be the first female POTUS, and clearly they are doing a good job when people are this bent over something that was found to be an non-issue, and something that many others in the government have done.

I would vote for a dog if it means keeping Trump from winning.

The answer to why we don't want to discuss it is because of how nasty politics gets here with some people who only care about sound bites and rhetoric. So many people are sick of the hatred thrown around everywhere right now, that most of us don't want to hear it on Mamapedia.

Our country is this close, THIS close, to electing a president who is not only a complete failure in business and personal matters, has zero experience/intelligence in anything remotely related to government, politics, the military, global relations/security/administration, you name it, but also has taken millions in taxpayers dollars to continue to fund his extravagant, reality star-playboy lifestyle, and you are crying about Hilary Clinton's emails???
That's like screaming about a mosquito on your arm and being too dense to see the grizzly bear right in front of you, ready to rip your head off.
WAKE UP.

Let's not and say we did.
What a waste of time and taxpayer money, that's why they aren't prosecuting.
This is just another media-frenzy-distraction from all the real problems and issues we are facing today, and you are playing right into it.

I think it's because the Clinton's are very well connected and what applies to others doesn't apply to the them.

They determined that no REASONABLE person would prosecute for this.

Btw, does everyone know that Hillary said she will have half of her cabinet women.

I agree with Doris Day. I've never seen a political discussion here that ended well. Although I think the larger social context is absolutely part of parenting, I hesitate to even go there on this site. The discussion always turns into dogmatic debates that ultimately end in personal attacks. I don't think that pattern is unique to this site. It is the climate throughout our country. As much as I hesitate to stir the pot, I can't help myself. :)
I plan on bringing a vomit bag to vote this year. The options, in my opinion, are horrid.

I just finished a book called Crisis of Character. It was written by an FBI agent from the Clinton era. I had forgotten all the craziness from the Clinton administration. This certainly brought it front and center. Made me think if she really had the temperament for the job. A lot is said about Donald Trump's temperament, but when the POTUS has a black eye and a broken vase, I have to wonder about HER temperament as well.

We live in a very scary time right now. I really think this country is at a tipping point. THAT is definitely parent related. Bush, Cheney and Rove aren't running. Clinton IS. THAT is why these questions are important. If the afore mentioned individuals were running, I would be asking the same questions about them. This isn't about republican or democrat. Its about being AMERICAN.

For the record, the choices this year SUCK.

There is no way I will ever vote for her. I think she is above the law and a power hungry person that will stop at nothing to be in a powerful position.

I have nothing against a female president, I just don't think she is fit to be that W..

I think Facebook was invented for this topic and others like it.
And that's just one reason I'm almost never on Facebook.
I love you more than a sister but politics just unhinges people and I don't want to lose respect for any of my Mamapedia friends.
Have a great weekend!

My opinion, government & judicial system is corrupt. Certain people are corrupt & use their social status & wealth to destroy instead of help their fellow man. I believe what is happening is important to talk about. If we do not find a solution to better ourselves, what does the future of our children & generations to come hold? I don't believe anything has been resolved by being silent. Blessings & peace to All😊
