Yes, it works, but it usually takes about three times to completely remove the hair, depending on how coarse it is and where it is.

I've done it and worked for a doctor who does it as well. It works best for people with dark hair. I'm going for my last of 6 treatments on my bikini area next week and am very happy with the results. While working for the doctor, I received free laser on my upper lip and legs. The laser I'm getting now doesn't hurt at all, just feels warm, but the laser I had several years ago was painful (felt like a rubber band snap for each pulse). I would do it again for sure, there are always deals with Groupon, Living Social. etc.

Yes, for bikini area and chin. Bikini area was totally worth it as the results were for the most part permanent. All tools are not created equal and it can be expensive. I drove 40 min. to get to a cheap place, but with an awesome tech and great equipment. The first place I went to didn't even work :( (of course that was 8 years ago), but still more expensive than the one that worked. Check it out, look for coupons and ask around. I don't even need to do my bikini area again. The months I went - once a month or so - were so worth it!!!

Finishing up my 6th and last session of laser hair removal on my bikini area next week, as well. Worked like a charm and I highly recommend. The laser used was the strongest on the market I was told and whoa! I would agree. I'm no pain baby but that did smart. AND I got hives on the area after the first four sessions, which is common for the bikini area if you have a lot of hair growth. But it was so worth it and I'd do it all over again for sure. I purchased my sessions through Groupon after reading the online reviews for the dermatologist.

Added: best results are achieved w/ at least 6 sessions :)

My adult daughter, who has very dark and thick hair, has been very happy with the results she's gotten on lip, leg, and bikini area.

Yes! I am so happy with the results. I use an esthetician in a dermatologist's office - not in a spa. I like that better because there is a doctor on site in case of any issues, and I don't have to pay tips in a doctor's office.

It is important to ask good questions and research your skin type and hair color and whether this combination works for laser hair removal, because if you are the wrong type, you'll spend a lot of money and it won't work. I will tell you that you'll probably be told that 6 or 7 times is sufficient, but that's not always accurate. If you decide to do this and want to really get rid of a lot of hair, you should see it as an investment and do it for around 2 years. You won't get 100% removal, but 90% is darn good. The reason it takes time is that hair grows in 3 stages, and the hair only dies when lasered during the middle stage.

Sometimes you end up getting some dermatitis from the treatment, especially if you do it on your legs. The dermatologist is great for getting the right kind of medication if this happens (another reason I stay with this office.)

Sometimes you can find a BOGO deal, which is nice because laser hair removal is expensive. (That's why I called it an investment.) I used my BOGO to get my underarms done free - I never thought I would care one wit about that, but I love it. The "shadow" of the dark roots is gone now, and my underarms look better now than they ever did when I had just shaved.

I would recommend shaving as much as you want to remove if you are interested in bikini hair removal so that you get used to what it looks like. Once you start having the removal done, that is kind of what you'll end up with, so you want to "like" the overall effect. Do let it grow out just a bit so your lady can see how much hair you have to remove while she works. I will say that I got my husband to help me decide how much hair to remove and how we wanted "me" to look. I loved that he was part of making this decision with me. We have both found it to be very sensual.

Good luck!
Dawn

It was just ok for me. It worked and is probably 70-80% improved, but I can't say I am thrilled with the results. I think for me, the problem is that my hair was not quite dark enough. If hair is too light, the laser can't sense it and doesn't zap it properly.
Most places do a free consultation, so they can tell you if they think you will respond well or not.

It's awesome and very freeing. If you deal with tons of hair, ingrown hairs, etc its soooooo worth the money. The thicker and darker the hair the quicker it zaps. Most medium brown hair takes 3-6 sessions to totally get rid of.

I purchased 3 sessions through living social for upper and lower legs. I have gone twice so far and my legs are sooo smooth. I still have to shave but only about once a week and my legs are silky smooth (which I was never able to achieve with a razor--it always irritated my skin). The office I went to uses a laser with a cooling mist and aside from a few spots that stung a little it was quite painless and I had no adverse effects after. I am planning on purchasing additional treatments for my legs and doing bikini as well.

It doesn't hurt too much (compared to waxing), it was fine although I did put some ointment that she gave me on right after, but it DOES NOT WORK on blond hair. :( I thought that would be way preferable to waxing or shaving, but alas......wasted money for me....well, not necessarily wasted. I guess it thinned it out some, but just not enough. But she told me that it may not beforehand, it was my choice to try it anyway. (*sniffle sob weep)
The lady said it could cause hives and bumps if you have sensitive skin, but I didn't have any issues.

If you have dark hairs and a light complexion, you are perfect for laser hair removal. I think it's worth it for the bikini area if you are willing to go back for a few to several sessions. If it's facial/neck hairs, there are other options that might work better. Vaniqa cream works great, although it is something that must be maintained.

yes worked great but after 2 times, started getting a huge allergic reaction!

I had my legs done over 10 years ago when my son was about 2.
It took 4 sessions.
I didn't mind the sting of the laser - I never needed any cream for that.
But the itching that comes for a few days afterward was something awful.
When the hair follicles died, I had something like an allergic reaction.
Benedryl helped a lot with that but made me pretty sleepy.
I only get a little peach fuzz on my legs now and I shave it off once a month in the summer just for the smooth feeling but it's invisible.
I really love not having to shave all the time!
It's totally worth it!

So-so. I have my 6th session for my bikini line next week. I've seen about 70% reduction in hair, but I do still have to shave if I'm going to wear a bikini. I have medium brown hair, so in theory I was an ideal candidate, but it didn't work as well as I would have liked. If I can find another groupon for a place close to me I'll try it again, it might have just been the laser/tech.
