My husband wants one of these (Christmas present?) Does anyone have one of them? Love it? or Hate it and wish you had something else? Also what do you get for the extra $300 with the ipad2 .
Well, all 3 of my kids are getting Kindle Fire's...because I can't get them each an iPad2. We have iphones and I'm loving Apple products now...but I also love my Kindle...so the Kindle Fire gets my vote!

i mean i have the ipad 2, and i uploaded the kindle app and the nook color app, so the ipad to me is way better because it can do what the kindle and nook can do and so much more. i am still having fun exploring my ipad2 and i think if you purchase it you will love it. now if your strapped for cash i would try to get an android tablet.
I have an iPad2. I haven't used the others so I can't comment on those, but here's what I use my iPad for (and btw, it rocks my world):
* reading books
* I get the NY Times on it every morning - no more picking up the soggy newspaper from the front porch
* checking e-mail
* FaceTime!
* internet (shopping, using mamapedia, googling, etc etc)
* Playing Angry Birds ;) (Okay, and all my other apps too)
* Facebook, YouTube, etc
* Taking pictures & video - it's actually not a bad camera.
Pretty much, it does almost everything my laptop does (okay, I don't use it for Excel spreadsheets or making powerpoint presentations! But just about everything else!)
I have an iPad and LOVE IT. I can't speak about the others, but I have never regretted getting my iPad, it's been worth every penny!
Ipad 2!! I love it! It has so many uses and the kids can use it as well. I'm not entirely sure but I think the nook and the kindle are mostly for reading but the ipad 2 can be a reading tablet plus so much more. i personally think its worth teh extra $$. do some google searches comparing the three and you'll see in more detail what the differences are.
Price wise, I love the Nook Color 2 (they call it the Tablet). The Nook has better memory and RAM then the Kindle. Of course neither can compare to the iPad. It really depends on what price point you are looking at and what you are wanting it to do.
I'd go for the iPad2 - it's like a micro computer. You have all the functionality of an eReader, along with internet, applications and lots more.
I thought about an eReader - Nook, Kindle, etc. When I talked with our local librarians and they said that ebooks aren't cheap. And if you want to get them from the library, the iPad allows you to get/download all the software for each kind of ereader. So now I can put all forms of the book on hold, wait until for which one comes up first, then cancel the other holds.
Plus our kids can use the iPad for games or schoolwork. The teachers have them earn credits for doing online games and learning programs. So now they don't have to use MY computer.
Finally, it's super portable. So when my mom was in the hospital, I was easily able to pack it up, take it with, text with my husband, read an ebook, surf the internet, etc. all without dragging along my whole laptop. And the batterylife is AMAZING!
Nook has a tablet out now also, i haven't seen it but I do have a Nook color and an ipad2. And my iPad is by far my fave! Unless you have a good wifi connection the Nook color is really slow. I vote for the iPad2
I have an ipad 2 and love it!!! I personally feel you can do soo much more on an ipad vs the other two you've mentioned. However, an Ipad 2 is more expensive..but worth it in my opinion.
