Kind of TMI Re: Toilet Paper

So the toilet paper I use is the Sam's Club brand. Been using it for years but I am now starting to realize it leaves, um.....residue where I wipe. Anyone else have this issue? Any suggested tp brands that do not do this? I will pay more if needed because this really grosses me out!

What can I do next?

We buy Costco. I boycott anything involving Walmart or Sam's. They are known for screwing the consumer.

I don't skimp on TP. I like the name brand, thick soft stuff (cottonelle, charmin, northern, etc.) I just buy whatever is on sale and try not to waste too much with each use.

I like the Costco's Kirkland brand. But honestly, I have found that toilet paper all by itself just doesn't do the job so we always have those wipes too. Those are the best things ever! I use them for both types of business. Just avoid the scented ones. Those smell nasty and the perfume isn't good for your nether regions anyway.

Yeah, the wipes they market for flushing are actually not flushable and should not be used with sewer or septic systems. We use TP made from 100% recycled paper - I forget the brand, but I love it, so much better than the name brands, and it's the same price or even cheaper than national brands - 50 cents a roll.

I keep baby wipes in the bathroom. I wipe with a bit of toilet paper to remove as much as possible then wipe with some wipes stacked on top of each other, maybe 2-3 of them. If I get the more expensive wipes that are super thick only one is needed.

I discard the wipes in a trash can with a lid that I keep by the toilet.

Walmart brand soft & strong tissue - it's the Walmart generic equivalent of Charmin soft & strong. Only one I will use, better than the Charmin brand, and no issues like that.

I buy the cheapest toilet paper I can get. Not paying extra for something to clean up poop and flush away.
Never had a problem with "residue."

The only one we buy that doesn't do that is cottonell.

I buy Walgreens brand in the yellow wrapper. It does not leave anything behind and is not rough like some cheap papers. I think it is just like regular Northern. Also, Angel Soft is a good one. I find Cottenelle tends to have this problem. Usually the more plush the paper, the more you keep when your done.

Cottonelle with Aloe.

However, I would strongly suggest using the Cottonelle wipes...

Do you have septic or city sewage? If you have septic, you really need to contact your plumber and ask which brand works best for your tank.... I've heard that Charmin doesn't STAY "sunk" to the bottom of the tank...

Good luck!

We use Charmin TP and flushable wipes.

We have never had a problem with the flushable wipes, but if you are on a septic or sewer system, you may need to consider Gamma G's idea.

so it's not just me, lol I hate toilet paper lint. i will only use angel soft at home. it's cheap which is nice and no lint. the higher quality tp's that are softer generally have more lint.

i use 7th generation recycled tp. i'm weirdly particular about it- i cannot use scented, hate the supersoft kind that disintegrates all over your butt, but my bits are too sensitive to take the harshness of the super-cheap stuff.
7th gen is soft enough to be kind, yet environmentally friendly enough to keep my inner hippy happy.
oh, and wipes (they get wrapped in tp and deposited in the trash) are an absolute must.

Charmin is terrible that way, hate it! Northern is better, and Target's and Trader Joe's brand seems OK.

Trader Joe's. Cheap, not terrible, recycled, no problems with *that*.
