I am mother of 2 kids (3 yrs old and 4 months) and a full time employee. I work long hours for a big company as a manger and have tons of responisbilities. I am happy with my pay and my job but I need a job with flexible hours for my family. When you have a family, you need to be able to set the hours and work when you can. My major is in Finance and have 10+ years managerial experience.
Do you have any suggestions? Do any one of you have your own business? Where can I start? I need some ideas!!!!

i just applied at www.liveops.com. you are your own boss and you make your own hours. can take a couple months according to my SIL to call back, but she has been working for them for a few months. she makes about $12/hr on average @ .25/min by selling made for tv stuff, etc. but if you work at home, you aren't having to pay for daycare, food for lunch, work clothes, etc. and with making your own hours, you can work it around your schedule. good luck.

Hi L., I hear you. When I was teaching, I LOVED it! The pay was decent and I got to do what I loved, however, I spent more time with other people's kids than my own. I knew I needed something different.
So I made a list of ALL the things I wanted:
1. to cuddle with my kids in the morning with no "rush"
2. To have quality play time with my kids every day
3. to have more than enough money to pay my bills and have those "extras' that I wanted.
4. I want to feel that I am making a difference, not just making a dollar.
5. i want to help people live and not support them in 'dying" (by that I meant i wanted whatever I was going to do to give people joy and not struggle or frustration)

I had a list of about 50 different things. Then I shared that list with everyone I knew and I said what can I do? I was shocked at how many "direct sales" opportunities came my way. The challenge was, I didn't want to go out every weekend and "flog my wares" in other people's homes. I wanted my evenings for my kids.

Someone sent me info on www.elance.com. that was pretty cool but I bid for about 30 jobs and someone in the Philippines or some other country under bid me and I got nothing.

When my friend introduced me to Isagenix (my current LOVE) i couldn't believe how easy it was. Eat nutritious protein shakes for breakfast (I was already doing that), substitute sodas and juices for real fruit drinks (We could use that) AND I could share it with other moms and the company would pay me. I didn't have to do home parties or catalogue sales or anything. All i had to do was have play dates with other moms and tell them what we were doing (giving them some taste samples worked well too!)

L., you have to start with what you what, exactly what you want. Write it out, be specific, be detailed. Only then will it come to you.
