M., This could be tough. Have you phoned your OB/GYN about this yet? You should. You should know there are cases on record of babies being born with T's or Copper 7's or other IUD's. It is possible to bring a child to term that way, but obviously quite risky and worrisome. Clearly you love children. Prayers are with you. Get reliable information now. One of the biggest hazards is to the mother, from bleeding at any stage of the pregnancy. Often the baby will miscarry early on if not aborted, due to the presence of the foreign object in utero. Pregnancy, while rare with IUD, does happen. Sympathies are with you. GET HELP NOW, DON'T WAIT. Your living child's depending on a live, well mommy, not a hemorraghing and possibly worse condition mother. You get the point. Prayers and best wishes.

I gave birth to my daughter in September of 2006 and in October I was fitted with a Mirena IUD. After a month of breakthrough bleeding I had no period at all. Recently, I had the IUD removed due to excessive cramping and unbearable backpain. My doctor informed me that my body was simply rejecting it. In my opinion Mirena is a great worrry-free option for anyone seeking birth control. I kinda miss mine. If it weren't for the backpain, I would have kept it in for as long as I could. (For the record, I had it removed in June 2007). I hope this info helps a little.

Hi M. I just wanted to let you know I do have the Mirena and my periods have been very crazy. I have thought I could have been pregnate a couple of times. I am glad you did set a doctor's appointment though. Good luck.

I have an IUD since July of 2006, after the birth of my daughter. I have not had a period since. Don't worry, from what I understand it is more effective then having your tubes tied(as per my doctor). I don't know if that is true, but I do know that it is a very effective form of birth control & I also know that I have not found 1 person who got pregnant with one. Not having a period is something to get use to, but girl enjoy it!

I posted a problem like this a few months back. I had gone two months without a period. I finally got it and then exactly a month later, to the day, I got it again. Then I went another almost two months. The doctor told me that it could just be that I'm not ovulating regularly. However, I had the copper IUD and I'd had it for 3 years when this happened. Definately just don't freak out yet and check with your ob/gyn. Good luck!

I've had a Mirena for 8 months. I had some very light spotting in the first three months, but I've never had a period since the Mirena was inserted. I know it can be a bit creepy not to get your period, but it's normal.

If the pregnancy test is negative, you're probably not pregnant. Certainly follow up with your OBGYN to get complete peace of mind. But try not to worry too much.
