Hey M.,

You may want to get it checked out. My girlfriend recently had hers put in and she got the same symtoms you have and found she was in fact pregnant. Scary huh? It could be that the IUD has been shift out of place. Let me know how everything goes. I am going to get mine put in as soon as I have my last baby.

Hello,
I too had a IUD. I had it inserted on my 6 week checkup after the birth of my 9 year old son. I had it in for about 5 years. It was good in bad. Good, was that I never was pregant while using it bad because I ALWAYS had VERY HEAVY BLEEDING AND CRAMPING. So, I decided to change to Deprovera. That too has its pros and cons. I now don't use birth control but if I had to chose today, it would definitely be the deprovera. Hope that helps.

DO NOT GET SCARED BY THE PREVIOUS COMMENT! IUD's are perfectly safe. yes they can shift and you may need an ultrasound to see if this is the case. IUD's used to contribute to existing problems in the past. this was mostly becuase of undiagnosed STD's being "dragged" into the uterus during insertion. the dr's i work for test everyone prior to even ordering it.

I have had one for 5 years and have not had any issues. However, my friend had similar symptoms like you and had it to have it removed. You should check with your doctor to make sure it is in the right placement.
