Hello

The Child Psychiatrist that we were seeing for my son will no longer be available for general appointments. We are so very sad as it took us a long time to find someone good and in-network with our insurance. It is seems that we will have to choose to go out-of-network :( but still trying to find recommendations (good and bad) of psychiatrists in the area. We live in Mokena but willing to travel (our current doctor only has us bring out son in 4-6 weeks).

Thanks so much!

Ask the current psychiatrist for recommendations. Psychiatrists usually know each. I've received referrals from one psychiatrist to a different one at least twice. Both worked well. The advantage to getting a referral is that because the first psychiatrist knows you and the other psychiatrist he's likely to make a good match for you.

Can't the current psych give you a referral? Seems like that would be the best place to start.

We go to one in Oak brook. If you want the details, let me know.

FYI- When searching in our website for a person who was covered.. I came up with nothing, but I was refered to this place called them, and they checked.. and they are covered.

They are a behavioral clinic, they fix from all angles.. We just started. a few weeks ago.

I really don't know of any psychiatrists that do therapy. They usually only do prescription appointments.

I'd talk to the insurance rep and see if there is a therapist/counselor, or some person that can work with him his health.
