Is This Normal After Pregnancy?

I had my baby 15 weeks ago via c-section. I know once you get your period, you can spot in between. I am back on the pill (YAZ)for the last 9 weeks & I don't know what's my period & what's spotting. I bleed for a day or 2 & then it goes away the week before I'm supposed to get my period. Then I got my period during the week I'm supposed to (last week)for 3-4 days (my norm). Today, almost a week that I'm back on active pills, I noticed blood when I wiped. My periods are always light to medium.
I also wonder if this has anything to do with when I delivered, they couldn't stop the bleeding for awhile, that I almost needed a transfusion. Sorry, if this is kind of gross. I am not breastfeeding either. Is this normal though? Any insight from other moms would be appreciated. Thanks!

What can I do next?

My little one is 9 months old, and I'm still having some bleeding between periods. It happens about mid-cycle. I called my ob about it, and he said it's just (and this definitely puts us back on the gross side!!) "old blood" from the pregnancy. Ewwww. Anyway, he said it can happen for a few months after you stop nursing and that it is completely normal. However, considering your situation of the doctors having difficulty stopping the bleeding during surgery, I definitely would call the doctor right away. One of those better-safe-than-sorry situations! Might as well be sure it's nothing to worry about so you can put it out of your head. Have fun with your son. Congratulations!

I think you should call your doctor. Maybe you need to be on a different pill.

The EXACT same thing happened to me on Yaz. It also happened to my sister-in-law and 2 of my friends. I suggest getting off that pill because I really feel it does something funky to your system. I didn't feel that their advertisement for a 3 day period was enough for me to risk messing up my system. Call your doctor.

Good Luck,
K. :~)

I hear spotting & irregular periods are normal after pregnacy. You're body is trying to regulate itself & trying to get back to normal.
I too had a c-section, but I nursed for almost a year, & my period didn't return until my daughter was 10.5 months old.I too went back on bc 6wks pp. I had the mini- pill though. Myabe your body is reacting to the Yaz birth control. I'm not sure..

If it worries you that much, I'd call your dr to make everything is okay.

I had a c-section too and unfortunately, I spotted on and off for nearly 6 months after having my daughter. Not alot but I never knew when it would happen. Or there was something there in the morning and by afternoon nothing. Spot a day or two or nothing for 10 days then start all over again and still get regular medium to heavy periods when I was supposed to. My OB/GYN says it really takes about a year for our bodies to get back to our prepregnancy state.

I had a c-section in April (same as you -- lots of bleeding, almost needed a transfusion) and have the same thing as you -- light spotting for a day or two. I'm breastfeeding, so I haven't had a regular period yet. I also have a Mirena IUD, so my spotting could be from that. I always have spotting after a gyn exam and after sex. I also have it every once in a while just randomly. My doctor said it's normal, but if it bothers me she could give me a small estrogen pill because sometimes the spotting is from a thin uterine wall (common after delivery).

I'm wondering if you had a regular period before you
started the pills again?
Did the doctor tell you to wait until you had one regular cycle before going back. That is what I had to do after my son was born. Your body had been out of wack for months it needs that chance to regulate. Find it norm again.
I would definetly call the doc and at least talk to the nurse.
Good luck with that new baby boy, they are fun.
