My husband and I just had our first home-shopping trip around the Denver area and "accidentally" found Prospect- New Town. Does anyone know anything about this place? It looks amazing (i know that is not something all people would think but we love it) just wondered if anyone knew anyone who lived out there and could give me a more personal opinion of the quaint town. We have 3 young girls and need to know if it would be good for kids or not so much. thanks, S.

What can I do next?

I grew up in Longmont (next to Prospect). Quaint is putting it mildly. Friendly, welcoming, safe, and fun.....Prospect is the tops! The houses are "cool" and build eco-friendly! Besides the streets are names things like "100 year party" (if I recall correctly) If you can afford it, *move there* do it! It is so nice and tight knit community that really is sweet to the core! I'm glad you ran accross the new town because it will insure a great upbringing for your girls. My DH and I can't say enough good things about Prospect. If we could afford it, we'd move there too!

We moved here from Jacksonville about 2 years ago and LOVE
IT here in Denver. The area you are looking is really
beautiful too- it just didn't work with my husband commute
to work.
I hope you enjoy Colorado as much as we do!

I have lived in Colorado for about 35 years. Prospect is a planned community SE of Longmont, Colorado. It is designed to stimulate neighbor interaction and hopefully create a tight knit community. Longmont is one of the fastest growing areas in the state of Colorado. But it does not have the bustle of Denver. Here is a link to the main page that describes it: http://www.prospectnewtown.com/ProspectStory/Main.asp. It is intended to be a great community for children. Most community attractions are within walking distance of the homes. The area is new so the character is still developing. But because it is in a newly developed area (that is removed from densely population areas), surrounded by long living stable employers, it should attract homeowners with similar reasons for locating there.

S.,
Your question about Prospect is an understandable one. My husband first found it when he was an archetectural student at CU and took our family there. We have since been several times, to look into buying/investing there, and for the fabulous beef barbeque at the restauant on the corner (at the moment the name escapes me..sorry! Ask anyone there and they can direct you. Prospect is a cute town, seems cohesive and peaceful. I myself like the residences, appreciating the quality of work I've seen. I think it is a friendly community and wourld be willing to try it, if we weren't happy in Denver. There is a church nearby, Rocky Mountain Community, I think it is called. It is a mega church, but if you don't care for that, I'm sure others are around.
Hope this helps. J.

To the best of my knowledge Prospect-New Town is not really in the "Denver" area...it is closer to Boulder and Longmont (not really considered Denver subs). I think it is about 30 minutes from Denver. Boulder area is very nice...great area to live. I personally live in Highands Ranch which is just south of Denver so I don't really know much about the town itself other than it is pretty.
