Does anyone know any nice, clean indoor play areas? I am already dreading winter because my 11mo old is so active and we are outside with him most of the time when he is awake! I will have to bring him somewhere to let off all that energy! Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the advice everyone! I signed up our son for a month of Gymboree and we will check out the malls and Playworld soon.

Playworld located in Grandville is AWESOME. They have a nice area for crawlers and early walkers with little bikes, walkers and play houses to explore. I have used it many times for my daycare children and my own kids. It's also free for kids under 2.

Gymboree is nice but very costly for the short time you get.

I've never been but I have heard gymboree is really good. also check out music classes for little kids. The YMCA is another place you could get a membership. Good luck

The malls in Grand Rapids have wonderful play areas. My girls really love the play area at Rivertown Crossings. I will take them there on the weekends just to let them play. I have a friend who is a stay at home dad and he has been taking his son to the little play area at Centerpointe Mall (across from Woodland on 28th & the Beltline) since he was about a year old - he's now 4. That one is smaller, still nice, but not as crowded. Just because you go to the mall, doesn't mean you need to go to any of the stores, or shop for that matter - it's okay just to use the play area and leave. Other than that, I'm not sure of any around.

Centerpointe Mall's is great. The one at Rivertown is good but busy. I would check out other malls!
We took a membership out to Frederik Meijer Gardens--it has a great children's area in the summer and at least it will be a warm and interesting place to go in the winter.
There's the Children's Museum, too. It's very fun for kids.
East Grand Rapids Library has an excellent children's area on their lower level.
Those are the ones that pop up for now. Best wishes.
