A family friend of ours has triplet girls and their first bday is coming up soon. Im trying to think of some ideas of possibly one gift that can be shared between the girls. One idea I had was possibly a tea set bc all three girls could use it at the same time and play together and it would just be one gift to purchase. What are some other ideas? Thanks!

What can I do next?

If you want to get a shared item, I think I'd lean towards something like books. But as a mom of twins, since multiples are so often referred to as a single entity rather than individuals, I'd lean towards getting 3 small things over one larger thing - and for 1YO's, if you have a Costco near you, you could get each girl a similar-but-not-matching sundress, romper, or jammies for very reasonable prices IMO. Or get each girl something like a sand pail and shovel maybe with a few practical items inside (toothbrushes, shampoo, etc.)

how about a basket with an outfit for each of them and maybe an outside toy for them to share. my son on his first birthday got a big ball. it was the best gift that lasted for several years. funny how the ball seemed to shrink in size as he got older!!!!LOL!!!!!!!

how about costumes, such as ballet outfits, with 3 different colored shoes?, any how, since they will only be 1 , it's not so important to choose 3 different items, now as they grow up that is a different story, as they will each want their own independance...how cute 3 girls, I had 3 boys, 10 years apart...LOL!

I think if they were my triplets, I'd appreciate clothes most. I can't imagine how much it must cost to clothe 3 babies! Maybe even a pair of pajamas and a small board book for each. One year olds don't need a lot of toys anyway. They're happy with Tupperware and measuring spoons.

If you have outlet stores near you, you can do this w/o spending a lot. I've gotten so much of my babies' clothing @ the Carter's outlet. If I had gotten the same things @ a department store, I would have spent sooo much more, even if I had gotten them on sale. I've seen the exact same items @ JCpenney ON SALE that I paid a lot less for at the outlet. It's not unusual for me to save 50 or even 100 dollars off retail. You can even print a coupon from their website and save even more.
I do this when I shop for friends' baby showers and I always have a pretty impressive looking gift. It looks like I spent much more than I did.
Hope it helps :)

I have trips, though they are now 12, though 2 girls and 1 boy. A tea set may not quite be ready for a 1 yr old. Board books or blocks could actually be the best if you do not want to get clothes. A couple of books or a book and a set of large blocks that would not be a problem should they put them in their mouths.
