I need to start supplementing with formula and I would like to get some feedback on what you find to be the best... a little back story my 7 month old has started to want more than I am producing also in a month I am going on a trip for a week without her and I need something to supplement with or can I just wean her off milk and go to regular milk she will be 8 months by then...

What can I do next?

Hi! I supplement right with Good Start. I mix it with as much breast milk as I can so that it's not such a big switch on my baby's tummy. She does tend to spit up a little more with formula, but at some point, she'll be on it exclusively so I feel like it's good to get her used to it. Good luck!

Any formula should be fine. The store brand formulas are no better or worse than the name brand formulas, but they're about half the price! Don't use regular cow's milk until she's at least a year old. Their digestive systems just aren't ready for it till then.

You should consult your doctor about going to regular milk. I know my doctor says no regular milk till my daughter is 1 year old. My daughter is 6 1/2 months old and I just had to start supplementing with formula as well. I mix however much breastmilk I pump with Earth's Best formula. It was an easy switch for my little one. Good luck!

With my ODS I supplemented with Enfamil Lipil. He went back and forth just fine between that and breastmilk. And like the other posters said, no regular milk until she's a year old.

All three of my kids were supplemented with Enfamil... although with my last child we switched to the CostCo brand without incident... the CostCo brand was less in price and we got a little more formula...

Hi Beth, no an 8 month old cannot drink cows milk, Breastmilk only or formula til a year. There really is no "best" formula. Usually a milk based formula is recommended unless a child shows an allergy. All formulas must meet certain requirements in terms of nutritional requirements. They wont' be the same nutrients as breastmilk, but they will be adequate.

Hi, I work in the infant room of a day care. I have seen and used just about every formula on the market. It has been my experience that the Infamil Premium Lipil is about as close to breast milk as you can get. Even when it comes to changing diapers. A baby on this formula has a stool just like a breast fed baby. Hope this helps.....

Good Start is the best in my opinion, but Walmart has the equivilent for half the price and would have used that with my triplets if they had it then, lol. There's different varities as well.
