Howard County Pediatrician Referral Needed
I am currently looking to switch primary care physicians for my 1-year-old son for a pediatric practice that is open to alternative vaccine schedules and treats you like a patient versus just a number.
Thank you!

Hi S.,
I'm not sure about the alternative vaccine schedule, but both my boys go to Dr. Christine Reilly at the Pediatric Center in Columbia (they also have an office in Catonsville). She's extremely personable and remembers the little things....our youngest son had some complications after birth and she was kind enough to give me her cell phone number to call incase I had any questions or if I though he needed to be seen after hours. She's wonderful.

We see Dianne Landrum also at the Pediatric Center. We have seen Dr. Riley when Dr. Landrum wasn't around and liked her too. Everyone in that practice is great.

We used Dr. Galita at I think it was called Ellicott city pediatrics, off St John's Lane. He was FABULOUS with my then 2 and 4 yr old. We even stayed with him after we moved to Mt. Airy for a while. We refused the Chicken Pox vaccine and he was cool with it. We also liked the older doctor Dr. Leffler. The only doctor I didn't care for was Dr. Leslie Berger. When we went in to my son's 2 yr appointment, she never talked to him at all, just me. That bugged me, so I just chose not to see her anymore. But Dr. Galita was wonderful. My daughter had some UTI issues and he was kind and concerned and even called us to check on us one time when my son had double ear infections.
Good luck! I know how hard it is to choose who will take care of your children.

I really like Paul Ambush. When I interviewed pediatricians, I asked specifically about alternate vaccine schedules and he was completely open to that. Additionally, he is caring, quick to respond (we're never left in the waiting room for long), not overloaded with patients (easy to get an appointment) and thorough.
