Can someone tell me how I can edit pictures on my computer? Like make them black and white, or with just a red bow, things like that. I would also like to crop. Is there an online program or is it a program I have to buy? My hubby bought me a nice camera and I enjoy taking pictures of my kids but need to learn more. Thanks
The nice new camera that hubby bought you should have come with a program that among other things includes simple photo editing features. You can go to Corel's website and download a free trial of their many photo editing programs.

I use photoshop elements. It is cheaper and easier to use than photoshop pro.
I am a graphic designer and the best program is adobe photoshop however it costs an arm and a leg...so next would be photoshop elements but for a program that is free and almost just as good....try Gimp in my experience it is only 2nd to photoshop and you can not beat the price... http://www.gimp.org/
You'll really need Adobe PhotoShop for the really special effects. If you're looking for some simple edits with a professional feel, you can get the less expensive version that's great for home use. It's called PhotoShop Elements. You can also to Flickr (a photo website) and find someone's profile who does effects like you're looking to do and see what program they used. Most of the photographers on there will tell you what camera, what effects, software...they used. Hope this helps and congrats on getting a good camera!
