I've had luck with seltzer.
If that doesn't work, borax diluted
With water. If that alone doesn't do it,
add oxyclean, but only a little at a
time. I used a very heavy solution,
It got the odor out but made the fabric
Brittle so that is ripped. Good Luck.

You can buy this formula at Target that gets rid of smell. You pour the powder on the couch and also add some water and dont sit there till it's dry.

vinegar and water.. mix together about 25% vinegar and the rest water. I promise your couch will NOT smell like salad dressing! lol spray it on till damp and let air dry. If the smell is not out try again. IF the cover comes off then take it off and spray till wet in the spot and then spray the foam cushion too and let dry seperatly. And yes, if you can let it dry in the sun it will help. Also once you put the cushion back in sprinkle a bit of baking soda on it, and that will help reduce any residual smell :) Good luck!!!!

Hi, I only just saw this question so I am late answering it. If you still have this problem I want to tell you that you need a product that has enzymes in it. The vomit has protein in it and it will stay in your couch forever unless you use a product with enzymes which eat the protein. Walmart carries a product called Kids 'n' Pets which every parent should have in their home. It will get rid of all oder that come from human and pet accidents, as well as other things like spilled milk which also has protein in it. Rug Doctor also carries a product in their line with protein eating enzymes. You have to make sure to read the label to make sure you have the one with the enzymes.

After the sofa is dry, brush in baking soda and let sit for atleast a day then vacume up. This usually works well also if possible allow the cushion to Air out side. Follow up with fabreez fabric spray.
