I see from allot of postings that there are allot of stay at home moms that run businesses out of your home. How do you stay in touch with clients and what methods do you use to get new business?

What can I do next?

Email is passive. I heard a stat recently that only 30% (possibly less) of people open your emails. Don't inundate your customers with emails, one a month max should be the number of emails you send to them; otherwise, they just scroll through their inbox and hit delete, delete, delete.

If you're in network marketing, people want to do business with people they know/like/trust. Ask for referrals! Offer some incentive for past customers referring you to their friends and family.

Group contacts into categories such as past hostesses, good customers, potential recruits, etc. Have a calling calendar and write down the contact info of people in each category and when you're going to call them.

Perhaps two weeks after they have received their orders from the party, give them a follow up call to make sure they are enjoying what they ordered.

I could go on and on.......

I leave business cards everywhere, I give them to the cashier that checks me out at the grocery or CVS, I also leave one in the atm card slot...the next person has to remove my business card to put in their atm card. Also networking is crucial.

Hi D.,

I stay in touch with my clients a host of ways. I tell everyone, I'm the email queen! I stop by occasionally to my clients that have brick & mortar establishments, I phone to say hello and I network. I joined a Moms group of business owners, started a brunch group called The Ladies Who Brunch (started with 2 of us, now there are 4), and a few womens groups so I get to see my clients in different environments and create new clients as well. Most people buy into your personality so I try to keep my happy face in a lot of places when I'm not sitting at my desk.

Hi D.
I am an independent representative for Silpada Designs. I maintain an email database of all past clients and hostesses and I try to send out specials each month or reminders about holidays. When I do promo shows, I ask people who take catalogs to leave the contact information with me. You need to listen for opportunities to tell people about your business. Around holidays, you can leave business cards or flyers around town, at restraunts in doctors offices and such. I also carry business cards on me and when people comment on my jewelry, I give them out. They have my website(www.mysilpada.com/pamela.norris) phone number and email address on them.
Just keep working it and don't get discouraged.

I use email to keep in touch. It works great for me. Since I am in a party plan business (actually two of them) I get new business at my parties and through networking in my local area.

I had word of mouth to establish my initial clients and then build from them. I joined Palm Harbor Chamber of Commerce, network at any event they hold.
Email and mailing are my methods of updating. Unless I have a sale, then I call and leave messages.
Good Luck
J.
