I think she has an excellent chance and like some of you I plan on working to help her campaign in any way possible. I want to work hard to make sure that my daughter grows up with the heartfelt belief that she can be or do anything she desires and for that reason alone it is a victory for all women that Nanci Pelosi was elected the first woman Speaker of the house and that Hilary Clinton has a great shot at the Presidency! I respect all of your opinions no matter what your political perspectives and I enjoy discussing the issues. However I hate debating labels and throwing around riduiculous characterizations. We are all adults and should be able to discurss our political opinions without it turning into name calling and judgments. No matter what you think of Hilary Clinton, I hope you take the time to learn about each of the candidates, their life, what they believes and what they would and would not do for this country and then and only then make an educated decision!

God I hope she doesn't even make the nomination. I would seriously have to considering leaving this country. I don't think she is fit to lead - anyone.

I know that may sound harsh, but I'm a pretty conservative Republican, military, single mom... and I have been truly insulted by what I've seen in her.

You are a brave girl to ask! I've wanted to leave
ever since "W" won over Ann Richards. "Poor George, he can't help it. He can't help it that he was born with a silver boot in his mouth."
I find it humerous to hear the Republicans now echoing my sentiments about living with George as President. But then, I don't think he took over the Presidency until just a few months ago and I see him as having been a two-faced puppet. I could almost feel sorry for him, except for his total disregard for human life inspite of his crusade for the embryos to thwart stem-cell research, which is probably more for the pharmaceutical companies than his "deep religious beliefs". Big contributors you know. I suspect he is about as religious as he is Texan. No one in the whole Bush family swaggers quite like "W".
That said, I think Hillery is in place for a great run at the White House. I think she has as good a chance as anyone at this point and the race will be hers to loose, if you know what I mean. Personally, I'd like Keith Olberman for President. Hillary needs to win the hearts and minds of the people and I think she is trying to lean too far to the right to find that middle ground to do it. I will venture a guess however that if she can make it through the primaries, that she will be our first woman President. Then you have to ask yourself who would want to take on the mess George has left us! There is much work and many hard decisions ahead for such a person to restore our democracy here and abroad.
We really need the best candidate!
Thanks for asking! You are very bold!
It's time for bold!

Hi K.,

You know what!!!
I am origianlly from California, I have never voted before or registered for that much. For so long, i had been taught the wrong thing as far as voting goes. But within the last 7 years i have researched and learned quite a few things about politics. To put this plainly..............I am praying that she gets on the ballad and she wins, if the others want to say I am blue in a red, then thats cool. i have vowed this election to register to vote, but only if she is on the ballot. i think she would be a great asset to this country and i think with her being so "hard" as they call it, she would do better than the sorriest president we ever had, who just so happens to be in office right now.

What i think is the saddest thing ever, is that while we have a strong woman ( no matter her race ) willing to clean up what this fool has done, it seems that these small minded women who lets the man lead, cannot or will not honor her. This question really lets us know how this world is programmed, its a shame. The haters hate because she shows no sign of weakness and super mad because she actually has the balls to get up there with the men and stand her ground.

I will honor her and i will be there with bells on if she gets on the ballot, i love her and all that she has done so far. I think she has a chance and i am rooting for her. so i am on your side for this one.

I do pray she doesn't, but truethfully I do think she does have more than just a chance. With the womens votes, the pro-life votes, the gay/lesbian votes, I feel she has more than fighting chance. I have and still do and will always back Bush 10000%, but will admit he has made some mistakes, but hey he is human. I did not vote Clinton in and had to endure him to the end and can hardly think of the nation foolishly voting in Hillary now. Haven't we had enough of them??? I know I certainly have. Their lefty politics are all opposite to my Christian beliefs. I for one have been proud to have a Christian as president and feel it will not happen again for a long time. If we as a nation are duped into being governed by the likes of her we shall crumble as a nation. I realize there are those that believe separation of church and state, but is you will look at history what was this nation founded on, "GOD." The public school was the Christian school with prayer in it. Our forefathers would not believe what we as a nation have become. So for me I want a Christian president with some moral fiber to him, and yest I do want a male president too.

Well, apparently she won't win Texas. Its unfortunate but like most outspoken or powerful women she has been judged and proclaimed by all to be hard, unappealing and unfeminine (there is a word for this that starts with a "b" and rhymes with witch but this being a family messageboard...). Most apalling, however, not shocking, is that more often than not it is women who most hashly judge. If women ever want to see the day when we can realisticly run a candidate for the office of President we must stop being so back biting and vindictive towards one another.

As far as her politics are concerned, being a unapoligetic liberal is not going to help her cause either. Although during the past few years she has tried to appear moderate, she cannot seem to escape the spector of those "universal healthcare" days (a policy which Canada whole heartedly embaces along with many other "communist" leaning programs, just in case your plan is to flee a too liberal US). My point being, it is difficult enough to be elected being a women in this country, let alone a liberal one.

Now this is not to say that PERSONALLY I would not enjoy seeing the likes of Hilary Clinton become President. I think that most of the policies she endorses are on the right side of reason despite some bad decisions when she decides to play politics and pretend to be moderate. But I am afraid that the above mentioned factors will, in all likelihood, prevent her from winning the Democratic primaries.I too am very liberal and strangely enough, I am not from up North. We should talk sometime. It would be refreshing to talk politics with someone and not have to argue every single point.

Go Blue!!

K.,

I am not suprised at all at the responses you have received. I am from the mid-west, and also proud to be blue in a red state!

I am planning on working for either Hillary or Barack's campaign over the next couple of years ... let me know if you are interested in joining the crusade.

My goal is educate other women how to vote for themselves and what they believe in ... not their husband or church. Also to show how important it is for our voices to be heard not only for ourselves, but for the future of our children.

That is my rant ... thanks for throwing some good discussion into the mix!

Goodness gracious- I hope not! I think she is one of the most devisive & power-at-any-cost politicians out there. The only one worse than her in my book is Nancy Pelosi! I wish someone would remind them we are not a socialist nation! I think because she is so strongly disliked by so many & is so "left" in her politics, the likelihood of her getting on the Dem party ticket as anything other than a vice president is slim. They leftists would love to have her, but the centerists have to know she can't win. Just my little opinion....but since you asked;)

And you know- Conservative women aren't all brainwashed by their husbands or their churches, just as liberal ones aren't all effected by too much dope smoking & Michael Moore movies. What ignorant stereotyping! I'd elect a woman president, if he had any values...that I shared.
D.

Extra:- Ladies- I see absolutely nothing about the leftist to promote the use of the term "progressive" when speaking of them. I have no problems with strong political women, but I do have a problem when their idea of saving humanity means abortions for all, nothing is worth going to war for and tax everyone so that no one has to take responsibility for their own problems & the government "manages" so many progroms so poorly that the level of care drops through the floor. You know, there are just as many knee jerk liberals as there are knee-jerk conservatives. Many of us can have intelligent issue for issue discussions, but just b/c we won't agree w/ you, doesn't mean we are defective or ignorant. I'm tired of that arguement. If the wonderful liberals ran these united states, and unfornately, so many of them are these ultra leftist feminists, I fear this country would become much too much like Holland & much of Europe where no behaviour has consequences, and all behavior is facilitated by the government. Say all you want about people judging others, but in my book, when we stopped making good judgements as individuals & expected everyone to embrace us no matter what, this society started taking a real down turn. Someone out there has to "judge"- value judgements are what keeps us out of the gutter- again, I point to Holland. Not a society I want ours to become. Too many judges in the US seem to disagree, and we have child molesters in Vermont going free after inflicting much pain & harm on little ones, but "Restorative Justice" is more important that true justice. But who am I to judge???? Come on, ladies, that issue of "not judging" is ridiculous. If we don't start making value judgements again, we are going to end up as screwed up as Europe! WE ARE NOT EUROPE! THANK GOODNESS!
Ok....I feel better now...everyone yell back. :) D.

I think she may be putting her horse in the race but I don't think she'll get the nod to be THE Democratic nominee to run... I think she'll make more people take notice of politics though... I don't mind a woman being in charge, I just certainly don't want it to be her. Ugh! :)

Obviously this is why our mothers told us not to talk about politics and religion. If all of us would remember this and abide by this rule, we would have a more acceptable society and more harmonious lives.

The baby boomer generation has proven that creating a society of government that protects us from ourselves, a society of people with excuses, and a society of protest has not improved anyone's lives. It is time for the next generation of adults to break away from the baby boomers beliefs.

So, do you know whether I am blue or red? YOU MIGHT BE SURPRISED! I am against adultery. That is neither red or blue. I have no other Gods; that means money, not other God-like societies. Again, neither red or blue.

Let us all learn to do unto others as we would expect others to do unto us and we will have a much more acceptable society of people who tolerate those different than us. BECAUSE if the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA has taught us anything, it taught us that EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT.

Shame on all of us as mothers if we do NOT teach our children tolerance and acceptance of those unlike us whether it is Hillary, Tipper, Ms. Rice or the First Lady. We are teachers of the future generations and should behave as humanitarians influencing appropriate behaviors instead of people with our own agendas enforcing our own beliefs.
