My middle daughter left a couple crayons in her pocket and I failed to check the pockets. They went through the dryer and my clothes have spots of orange and green all over them. Doese any one know a way to get crayons out of clothes.

What can I do next?

K. -- I have gotten crayons out of carpet by putting a paper bag over the stain and then using a warm iron on top of it. the iron melts the crayon onto the paper. i think this would probably work on clothes as well.

My daughter did the same thing the other day. I had a load of whites in the dryer and she threw a red and green crayon in the dryer. What I did was drench the clothes in spray n wash and let them soak for a while. I then washed them in a capful of ALL clear and free (the white bottle) and a scoop of oxy clean on cold water cycle. I'm sure any detergent will work. I really think it was the spray n wash and the oxy clean that got the crayon out. Not all of the marks came out, but the majority of them did. I can now actually wear the clothes again. I hope this helps.

Oxy Clean Laundry Stain Remover (blue bottle). I swear by it. It has taken out everything from my husband's grease from his car to stains from my 10 month olds clothes that I missed the first time I washed it. They have all come out.

Hi,

The same thing happened to me. Almost every piece of clothing had red crayon on it. I had to buy 3 Shout stain sticks, and wash the clothes twice I think, using the Shout before both washes and almost everything came out! It worked really well.

Good luck!

I agree with the mom that mentioned sol-u-mel. It works great you might add some tough n tender as well. Also by Melaleuca. The best part those products are toxin chemical free. You can get that crayon out without worrying about using those harsh chemicals on your child's clothes. If you need cleaners you just let me know I would be happy to share. ###-###-#### or ____@____.com

Good luck! B.

go to crayola.com, under the parent's section are stain removal tips. I just looked in my "talking dirty with the queen of clean" and the tip there involves WD-40 and detergent. I saw that same tip on crayola.com so I'll let you go an investigate.

Good luck, I haven't that issue.. yet :-)
