My back and tummy hurt and are tight. It feels like a Braxton-Hix contraction but it won't stop. Do I need to call my doctor.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I called my doctor and told me to go ahead and go to Labor and Delivery. I was only dialated 1cm and they sent me home after an hour of observation. I feel much better today. It might have been something I ate that caused the pain and mikd contractions. Thank you all for your input.

Are you feeling any better today? Do you feel that the pains are feeling harder and lasting longer? When you drink water and rest, do they go away? how about if you take a bath? If you try these things are the discomfort is still there then I would call your doctor or go into the hospital to Labor and Delivery. When is your due date? I am a Doula and do not have any clients this month so if you want to email I can give you my number and we can chat if you are still in limbo of what to do.

I wish you well!

I am glad you went in to get checked. If I remember correctly you are around 36 weeks now, right? All my kids came at 36 weeks and are fine. What a wonderful Christmas Present.
Take care and watch those contractions, if they start coming regularly get yourself back to the hospital. With my first I was just uncomfortable, no pain and it wouldnt go away so I called my Dr and he said to go into the hospital just to be checked and I was 10cm ( thats when I had my first contraction...when they told me that ;) and ready to go. I wish all my kids would have came so painlessly....and funny enough I had epidurals with the last 2.

NEVER HURTS TO CALL. CONTRACTIONS SHOULD BE 4 MINUTES APART AND THEN THE HOSPITAL, ALL DOCTORS ARE DIFFERENT AND I WOULD CALL IN CASE

I would definitely set up an appointment to see your doctor. He or she should fit you in immediately and just check to see that everything is OK. When I was pregnant with either one of my kids and something made me nervous I never hesitated to see my doctor quickly.
